The Jazz Cat by chispaLBC
Have you ever wanted to work in a high-class restaurant? Maybe you even like jazz? And would you like to be a cat, particularly a cat waiter?
Then we have an opening at The Jazz Cat!

Try to fit as many dishes on your tray as possible and satisfy the diners. The more dishes you manage to fit on your tray, the higher your score (and your pay) will be.

The controls are simple, just drag and drop to your tray. If any dish has an area outside the tray or on top of another dish, it will not be valid!

Kudos to: - LexArtis for composing and designing all the SFX and music for this: https://on.soundcloud.com/s15Mt - To ChispaLBC for the sprites and animations. - And Nekuake for programming even with a fever.
Changelog
- Fix 1: Fixed the bug that allowed to place pieces incorrectly. When a piece returned to its last position, it wasn't going back to its last rotation.
- Fix 2: Music was not looping. Although the loop checkbox was selected in the engine, godot apparently wants you to press reimport to apply the option.

I found the bug where you can place dishes in wrong positions, but I had a blast trying to fit as many dishes as possible with it hahaha
Yeah, we know that there some bugs regarding the placing of dishes in the tray that we tried to fix but we had no success until after the jam! But I'm glad you enjoyed the idea of the game, really. ☺️☺️☺️
Also, your description mentions doing things fast, but I didn't see any indicator of time being of the essence in--game? Honestly tho, the (apparent?) lack of a time limit was something I liked in this one - it was a pure tetris logic puzzle rather than a frantic organizing game, which to me felt like it fit the visuals and sound great.
The jazz music was very chill and the sound effects were cool as well.
Great entry!
The art is really cool indeed! @chispalbc did an amazing job. Glad you liked the music too!
Overall a great game, I hope you continue working on it, that's a cool concept !
P.s. Please post a link to the music!
I think it was really nice that placing you dihes with thought can make it possible/impossible to add another dish since they would snap back to their placed position when moved.
Well done!
The paw for a cursor looks impressive at first, but didn't feel comfortable to use during the puzzle part.
I didn't figure out right away I should walk towards the kitchen and was just clicking at the screen like an idiot. I think a hint could be added to the game itself ^^
I didn't do well at the very first puzzle at all, and my cat didn't want to put blocks outside of the tray anymore.

Then I looked back at your page here and slowly realized that I am not supposed to fill 100% of it necessarily. Went right and earned some money and thought whew, I didn't completely fail this game xD
Finished!

+ It was a great experience, I enjoyed the game and it wasn't too hard/long. Maybe should've read through the instructions more carefully before playing, but oh well, I got it in the process, I guess :0 Thank you for the game, a really impressive entry, especially the atmosphere you created! <3
I agree with some of the comments above about the cursor/controls and confusion about what to do - perhaps having the cat paw cursor to click between the kitchen and the payout on the "restaurant segments" rather than walking would be enough to ease that confusion and let you keep the cat paw there while removing it in the puzzle parts.
Great work to the whole team!
