Purrimeter by johnnysix
Well uh, I was building a tree-house Saturday, so it's sort of like a compo, except maybe something like 50 hours?

Really good
Cute puzzler! I love the little kitty guy and his quest for the lightning
Please Continue to work on it. It has Potential.

Now, diving a little deeper, I absolutely adore the misadventures of our tiny kitty hero on his epic journey to snag that elusive lightning! And that winning animation? Pure comedic gold. Had me chuckling to myself! 😺⚡️
However, there was one teeny hiccup I encountered. When I tried drawing the box, it seemed to strongly prefer that classic top-left to bottom-right motion. My artsy instincts were just naturally inclined to do the opposite, which felt a bit counter-intuitive. Maybe it's something you could consider tweaking in the future?
Regardless, this delightful puzzler brightened up my day.
as others already mentioned (and you said will be fixed in v2) - the only issue I had was drawing the top top-right to bottom left, but other than that, the game played great.
Well done
You really showed your skills in all the areas: from sound to graphics.
The game gives enough visual and sound cues to help the player.
The level design is good as well.
I think I saw 2 more platformers with comparable mechanics this jam, but here you have to draw the zone yourself and this sets it apart.
There's no level 7, or I didn't get a metagame in the menu?
(I'm in love with the left/right blocked animation, I'm really feeling the cat :joy_cat: )
Great job! I'd love to see more of this in the future, it has great potential to be expanded out into a larger game.

For those that ( probably everyone actually ) struggled with the box-drawing mechanic and jank.

I really love the graphics and animations. The cat scratching the box when it can't move is such a great detail.
The polish in this game is great. The particles, the effects on player death, it's all great!
If anything, I would maybe add a checkpoint to some of the longer levels.
On the post-jam version:
- Being able to drag the boxes is very good, but it felt a little intruding when trying to quickly draw a new box on top of the old one. Maybe have a dedicated mouse button for each function, or allow to resize boxes by dragging corners?
- It's a little hard to see the switches that are inside the walls on lvl 4.
- I got stuck on lvl 4 standing on one of the "doors" and deactivating the button, and I couldn't find a way to reset the level.

- Other than that, I love the new art and effects!
Overall, great job! Keep it up!

Really enjoyed it a lot! Amazing work, once more :D
