logo.pnglogo.png Logical game about building a village in a limited space, gathering resources. Your goal is to escape the island.

5.10.2023 - small bugfix: restarting the game now restarts the resources - small bugfix: fixed unused collisions, now building should work without issue - added small pause menu so you don't have to restart game all the time

Everything else is as it was.

I really like this game. The mood is great and it is a fun challenge. It is a little bit too slow at first but it got better when I made more buildings. nice entry. congrats.

Mmmm... the game felt quite unfinished. I found it hard to get an area cleared for a mine and when I finally was able to, for some reason I could not place a mine there. It would have been good to have some effects to notify which tree is under the lumberjack's work currently and an indicator when it is about to disappear. In overall, the graphics are eye-catching - at least for my taste. I like the atmosphere of the game with the blizzard effect. The game would probably have benefited from a silent background music. Not bad, but needs more work!

This is a very interesting game and quite different from others I've played this jam. The "city builder" aspect combined with puzzle game as there is quite limited space (haha) made for a tricky, yet fun experience. I must say tho, I was quite confused at the start and it took me a good while to realize I had to purchase and build houses via the menu in the top left, so that could have been made more apparent. Good stuff tho!

Cool art style! Very minimal but reads super well. Game is a tad slow and that coupled with minimal visual aids as to whats going on when you place a building makes it a little confusing. I took two stabs at trying to beat it and couldn't get there because I ran out of resources so I appreciate the hint in the description on how you might beat it. Nice entry!

Very nice game, quite unique. The game was a bit slow and it took a while to understand that trees were actually being removed. But once I got the hang of it I managed to get to the end. Nice work!

Would have been good to have some indication of the effect placing each building would have on the island surrounding as it knowing where to place things was more a of guessing game than strategic decision. But I really liked the concept.

I really like the concept, but it's frustrating there's no reset button when I get stuck, so I basically have to F5 each time. Also, it's a bit slow, and I don't get much feedback on what's happening, it could benefit of some simple animation (like tree shaking while being cut down), and because of this, it took me a while to notice the lumbermill have such a short range, I think it should show the range before building it, specially since it's a puzzle game.

I'm a bit mad at myself that I couldn't play it more because I got frustrated, because I truly wanted to like it, the graphics are really cute, and the ambience is cool (pun intended)

Hmm, is it really possible to complete game within 200 secs, under 300 (maybe 250) is possible, but 195...

Graphics is pretty pleasant, gameplay is also good, theme is nicely used. Good job.

I'll leave couple suggestions:
- Add some feedback, when building could not be placed or describe, that highlighted squares are the building size (I was thinking it is an area of mine, and was searching why I can't place mines)
- It seems that houses don't speed up gameplay considerably (I was not seeing any working speed increase by naked eye), maybe add some indication (e.g. +10% per house). First time I was thinking speed increase would be like two times.
- Remove building (or at least start with 0 buildings). Starting house ruined like 70% of all gold ores (it was frustrating to clear all the forest, when gold mines were at start, but blocked.

Overall it was fun experience, and I even tried to speedrun it, but was not able to beat 195 (I scored 280, but I know I can cut 10+ sec).

@majomirez all true, especially about the range, thanks!
@rusya-ink

1) yeah, I think the building should show how it will look at place, when I think about it now. I especially understand that someone might want to build a mine on top of the gold piles.

2) yeah it should be much faster, no excuse

3) on the other hand you would've blocked the place anyway the first try - it would've been much more frustrating that you can't go back because the game tricked you. It's a bait for the player to quickly realize that you can't go back by destroying buildings - everyone always focuses on that sweet shiny gold.

Thanks for feedback! Our crazy colleague speed ran the game for a half a day to get the 195 xD
