Cloud Runner by Cuddly Creeps

https://cuddlycreeps.itch.io/cloud-runner

Cloud Runner is a simple platformer. Beware of the enemies - try dashing through them! Y'all wanted "limited space", right?! So watch out - the platforms are getting smaller and smaller.

Hey folks! Hope you had a lot of fun with this jam! We're Gabriel and Dana - the Cuddly Creeps. And unfortunately we were not able to finish in time.. it was Gabriel's first time with Godot so he had to figure out, well, everything. And Dana was the one for the graphics - we've used existing assets because of the lacking time and Dana reworked them to fit our needs. We've prepared a parallax background, but since it didn't do what a parallax background should do, we've decided to use it as a static background. On top of our struggles we were sick.

Our plan was... ...to have a parallax background ...to have different enemies ...to have the level moving so you need to be fast

Are we a little sad, that we couldn't finish in time? Yes. But are we happy though to have participated in this jam? HELL YES!

We will work on this game in the future. It will get cool features, graphics and maybe a cooler name. Stay tuned on - itch.io (https://cuddlycreeps.itch.io/) - website (https://cuddlycreeps.com/)

Good job making it to submission! It's always hard to start, but game jams are great for learning and trying new things.

I got pretty far into the game but fell and had to start over without checkpoints. For the most part, the game seems to be mostly functional already, and just a few more steps would carry it to the end. In terms of planning, it's better to have the core done first rather than spreading too thin. A short, minute long game is a better experience than a long, unfinished one.

That said, the world and enemies were creative, and I had fun with the platforming and dusting enemies away. Hope you'll continue and make more games in the future!

As others have said, currently not working:

Error
The following features required to run Godot projects on the Web are missing:
Cross Origin Isolation - Check web server configuration (send correct headers)
SharedArrayBuffer - Check web server configuration (send correct headers)

I checked in Firefox, Chrome and Edge, same for all. Will happily try again later in case it gets fixed.

The game doesn't work on the ludum dare page but i can run it without problem on the itch page, i think that a lot of us had problems to upload on the ludum dare page so don't worry !

The game is nice and the pixel art graphics are really cool and well made!

Hey, thank you for your feedback everybody. Actually I don't know how to fix this error on the Ludum Dare page. But for everyone curious you can play it on itch. Sadly we didn't manage to finish what we planed not even close. I think this was a lesson on preparation and about not getting sidetracked when there is a timeline :D .

But if you guys are still interested, there is some basic gameplay with one level to play and we will keep working on this prototype.

Lots of love to all indidevs

Good job! I know the struggle with not finishing things on time (and getting sick during game jams even), but it's a very nice basis! Really like the double jump + dash mechanics, and I think with some additional obstacles in the game, and maybe even moving level parts, it can become a great little platformer.
