made by squirrelsoft for Ludum Dare 54 (JAM)

Manage a limited supply of seats in train rides while maintaining users satisfaction.

Good concept! I liked the calm vibe and music! After a bit I noticed you could change the screen colors from a light theme to a dark one, that was a nice touch!

Thanks all !
the dark mode came from a mistake while making the map shader, I ended up liking how it looked so we kept it ^^

Great idea! Fun and challenging.
A little overwhelming however when lots of meeples start to spawn,
you don't quite have the time to get used to it.

It's hard to interact with the seats because they are small,
it would be better if a magnified view of the seats appeared
next to the train when the mouse gets close.
This spoils the gameplay a little since it involves agility.

Anyway, I was able to beat the levels, and I'd love to play a version that adresses these issues. Good job!

[Edit] A final word, I think you should give the player a few moments to look at the level and grasp the connections before it begins =)

Smart game, I enjoyed figuring out how to make characters reach new places!
Some problems that I've encountered:
- it was hard to figure out my progression on each map (am I near from losing or winning?) and the defeat/victory conditions.
- as mentionned by the previous comment, it's a bit hard to drag & drop characters on trains because you have too many skills to operate in tight timeframes (figuring out which character to pick + trying to drag&drop them on the train while it's moving). Not impossible, but I think the fun is more into the decision of placing characters than
trying to drop them on the fly

Two ideas that could improve the gameplay without changing the overall game would be:
- Easier "put character in train" controls (maybe you just have to drop the character "around the train", and they are placed on the first available seat).
- Possibility to pause at any moment (so you can plan your actions).

@shaggy @igor-kingamer @lukuluk thanks you for your review.
It's hard during ld to spend time on balancing ^^'. So we know it's hard...
Very good idea @igor-kingamer we should have made some kind of pause at the beginning or delayed the first meeple spawn to let player discover the map.
@lukuluk Unfortunately, for the "easier put character in train" the design we choose for the drag and drop isn't very friendly with putting in the first available seats... + only the wagon in the country were available so kind of hard to manage it at the train levels... next time we will go for a better drag n drop i promise :stuck_out_tongue:

The control where so hard to use. If you could have a snap function so that passenger automaticly get a seat and that you just need to clic on them to get out.
Also having a timer to see since when they are waiting

the click to get out is in the post-LD version. with some bug-fixes and a better balance

The idea is actually very good, but when it comes to actual gameplay later... the drag and drop control is too slow and require too much precision to be actually enjoyable. The trains either had to be slower or the controls need to be reworked.

Nice concept. I am not sure if my decisions had any effect on the situation. I played the game several times just to test that. I managed to win just by filling all available carts with the closest person. Maybe the game need more balance. I would like to see what it becomes.

@mnemosynevl this strat works perfectly on the first lvl but when the meeples have to change trains...

This game took a while to get into but was a great challenge, I managed to get up to level 5, when you can drop a passenger onto the train needs to be explained, and when expletives/speech bubbles appear they can cover the colour of the passengers, a bit more instruction will make the game more accessible.

Cool game. Calm music for beeing so stressful. Feels like it went from 10% to 100% on the two first levels. Good job!
