Rough Housing by AGK
As a city planner, the transformation from slum to sprawling metropolis isn't an easy task. Starting with an tiny, impoverish, overcrowded city, your job is to bring happiness into people's lives by building different facilities of convenience, commerce, entertainment, and more. Of course, sometimes this comes with difficult decisions - do you have the heart to destroy existing locations to make use of your limited space?
Goal: Get the required score within the given number of turns.
Controls: * Click to select building from the right. * Click again over grid to build.
Note: Houses start as Slums, then upgrade to Suburbs when they reach 40 Happiness, then High-rise when they reach 110.
Further clarification of complex building effects: * Museum: +10 happiness for adjacent Slums, +20 for Suburbs, +30 for High-rise. * School: +40 happiness to adjacent houses applied after 4 turns. * Carnival: Doubles the happiness of adjacent houses. * Factory: Despite giving an immediately -10 Happiness to adjacent houses, the Factory gives every new facility placed adjacent to it a +10 Happiness bonus on top of its original effect. * Park - Expansion: When a Park tile is placed, all Park tiles connected to it via edges count as one big Park, which gives a Happiness bonus equal to the size of the Park times 5, to all adjacent houses to the Big Park.

Really enjoyed playing this, well done!
The text seems to be a little hard to see and read by the overall fun of the experience is great ! Congrats ! ♥
One addition that would be nice: be able to play to the end even if you reach the target, and have a medal system based on score, like 800k is bronze and sufficient to go to the next level and 1.5M is gold.
Great job!
Otherwise, the game's great, had a lot of fun playing with it and the school's effect feels awesome!
I did struggle with the effects of some buildings initially. Happiness rewards felt random. Previewing happiness modifiers might help that.
I can't overstate how much I enjoyed this game, it reminds me of ISLANDERS which is a game I sunk a ton of hours into. "Limited space: the genre" 10/10 jam entry.
It would be nice to have a sort of a guarantee for each combination the player receive to have a winnable set of placings. Sometimes I've got only factories which couln't lead to a success in any way
Well done!
Also personally I'm really not a fan of the visual language. The visuals themselves were well-polished, but the implied narrative of huts being slums and suburban homes being a desirable step at all just did not feel right.
Anyways, the overall game mechanics were nice, and the explosive effects of multiplication were really satisfying!
