Help the Turtles reach their food!
The sleepy turtles are having trouble reaching their food. They need a little push to get to it! However, there's not much space to navigate, and you cannot move backward, so be careful!

How to Play
- Push turtles by moving onto them.
- Pushed turtles will wake up and go straight ahead until they are stopped or they find food!
- If you push turtles from the front, they will not move ahead, since you're blocking their way!
- Careful, you cannot move backwards, so try and stay out of sticky situations...
- You can use turtles to block other turtles.
- A turtle can collect more than one carrot!
- Green arrows will stop the turtles and rotate them to the arrow's direction
- If an arrow and a turtle moving over it are facing the same direction, the arrow is ignored.
- There are 17 levels!

Does it show any message? Do you see anything? 😞
And it took me quite a while to figure it out.
AWESOME work.
Fun sound effects and juice on the movement (especially liked the turtles popping out of the shell as it slides forward)
Really nice aesthetic.
Only complaint was that I was wanting an undo button a few times!
Cool sokoban game, cheers!
@bauke-regnerus Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! you can turn it off by pressing 'C' btw. I know some people don't like the CRT effect that's why I added the option to disable it. Maybe I should've also added an in-game button prompt for that 😬
@magalix Thank you!
@keely-brown Thank you! I actually started working on the undo button but I didn't have enough time for that, and I prioritized making levels. It's a shame because an undo button is a must in such a game imo. Oh well
@namnam Thank you! Puzzle games are tough to make! I made a few puzzle games before so I'm a bit accustomed to crafting levels for them, etc. You should definitely give it go! Maybe in a non-jam environment. You can do it!! :D
Really impressive game!
It feels like some SNES game, the whole vibe of the game is cute and cozy.
@nishikku 😎Thanks!
@rongon Cool! Thanks! I love retro games so I'm glad to see this is the vibe you got. I usually make dark games so this time I decided to challenge myself and make something cozy
@handsomeshan thanks, in jam 53 I made a game without an in-game tutorial and controls and it's something I knew I'm not skipping this time. I'm glad I didn't!
**spoiler:**
you need to get the right turtle to the top then use it to block the left turtle in order to reach both carrots!
I will probably add a video with solutions to all levels soon as well
Great art, music and turtles.
I finished all 17 levels, they were very fun and challenging!
Well done, take a candy! :candy:
@hagamosvideojuegos Thanks for the candy! I needed it. I hope it's not licorice 😂
Glad my game invoked childhood memories!
I did up getting stuck on level 9 and had to cheat by watching the promo gif here but don't tell anyone...
Lots of fun! Great work on the game!
Understandable. Glad you enjoyed the game! Thanks for playing :)

**Level 9** - That solution was indeed uninteded. One of my friends who playtested the game managed to solve it that way so I was aware of it. I decided to leave it in since it still teaches you a similar lesson. I prefer the levels having one solution, but I discovered this one a bit too late. Level 11 could also be solved in multiple ways..
**Level2** - Oh, that makes more sense. Good call!
**Inputs** - Yeah, I get that. Happened to me too. Do you think there's something I can do to improve this? I don't want the player to move while things are happening on the board obviously..
**Undo button** - the code for it is actually almost done, it's a shame I didn't manage to finish that, because this game really needs this feature! I published the game fully knowing this will be a pain point. 😅
Thanks for the feedback!
@raassh23 Glad you enjoyed the game ^_^
@polinachrr thank you! It was really important for me to add in-game instructions in this jam, happy it made your experience better!
If I had to add something, it would be an undo button.
very nice entry!

I was afraid to play yet another sokoban clone, but I was delighted to see it wasn't the case. The game is well polished, the visuals are consistent ... and I really like the music! it repeats, but it's not boring, it's relaxing and soothing! I'm listening to it while typing .... a perfect ambience of sleepy turtles! :D
Also, I love puns, I'm a pun guy, so you got me there.
The graphics are comfy, as is the music, I loved the turtle facts.
Lovely entry!
I spent as much time solving level 17 than the rest of the game
Some Qol notes: An undo feature would have been very welcome. In level 17 especially, I constantly inputted a control wrong and had to restart the sequence of moves completely. Also, if you have a forced delay between inputs, it's best to let the player hold down the key to perform the action repeatedly.
But overall I enjoyed this. Great work!
@meep - yeah, I designed the levels on the third day. That made up almost the entire work of that day. I would've loved the add new mechanics and had a few ideas, but I stored those for a possible post-jam version because I barely had any time left lol
@catusfelony - noted, if I make a post-jam version I'll definitely be doing changes to that.
@ace17 - sorry about level 17, it's really tough XD Glad you beat it!!
@zungryware - I'll definitely be adding the undo button (which I almost finished but had to scrap due to time limits) to a post-jam version if I make it. I'll also improve the input of course. :)
@shmi - a possible solution to that would be to make an icon or something that appears if the player attempts to move in reverse too much, maybe even accompanied by a sound an a screenshake.
One thing I am wondering is: how long did it take you to design each level? Because our game is also puzzle, it took us about 0.5-1h to design easy levels, 1-3h to design hard levels. We felt those hard ones were much more time-consuming. Also, would you mind sharing how you drew to design each level? We used excel to draw. We feel it's convenient but wonder if there are any better ways.
Overall it's a really fun and challenging puzzle, one of my favorite ones. I loved the turtle facts, too :D
I made the levels in the editor without drawing on paper or using other software. My level making process is a bit chaotic -- I throw stuff at the board and do a lot of play tests to see what sticks, then the concepts start to emerge on their own. I spent a few hours in total working on most of the levels, and about an hour on level 17 which was the most difficult to create. After that I tested the levels with friends and made some tweaks.
Happy to hear you liked the game! Cheers 😁
I really appreciate it that you shared the process you made these levels! One hour was not too long for a most difficult level. We spent over two hours for our most difficult level but it's still not that difficult. You have a really great talent for making puzzles. Thanks for making this game!
All in all really great puzzle game!

Great game, I love it puzzles!
