The Jig Is Up by Odefus

[raw]
made by Odefus for LD33 (COMPO)
The Jig Is Up is a small adventure game in which you play as an undercover extra terrestrial. Escape from the clutches of the men in black.

Another LD and another ambitious plan quelled by time, the destroyer of worlds. The goal was to populate the game world with random things to do in the spare (HAH!) time at the end. Ended up scrambling to finish the core game in time. Hope you enjoy it regardless.

A cool little idea. The graphics were simple and effective. The movement was smooth and I like the message you get when you die :D:D:D

Wonderful concept, great art, smooth movement made it fun to just wander the room, surprisingly stress inducing seeing those men walk towards you on the street. Very well executed. End looked really good too. Nice work.

Great game. I find it a bit slow to walk. It would always get on my nerves a little bit.

This looks like the start to something great, my only wish was that there was more to explore. The mood was great, the story telling was pretty interesting. The interaction design is a solid start to a good adventure game.

The yay:
- graphics and mood
- dingleberries

The nay:
- movement is sloooow
- I'd like an option to manually advance dialogue, rather than waiting all that time
- music (the only sound there is) gets tiring quickly
- maybe reworking controls a little (e.g. a menu shows for multiple choice, instead of having two keys for different choices)

Pretty good, if a bit slow and short. ^^"

Nice story, the game itself was a little bit lacking, but that's ok because the story made up for it. Would love for some more story and gameplay elements!

Walking seemed to have a kind of weird momentum, not sure if it was there when I started, but it would sort of have me swinging into the next scene without pressing anything. Otherwise really nice game!

Cool pixel art! I like the way you did "thinking" mechanics

The dialogue and the low movement speed got the best of me. I didn't stick for long, but I appreciate the pixel art.

Maybe walking is a bit slow for my taste, but otherwise, nice little game.
