Protector of the light by mango-malarkey
Protector of the light is a rouge-inspired tower defense game. Defend the burning light from hordes of enemies that storm your dungeon. Place your towers strategically, you have limited resources and limited space.

Features
- Tilebased, movement where every interaction happens on a fixed game tick
- 3 handcrafted levels of increasing difficulty
- Towers and melee combat

Controls:
- [WASD]: Move
- [E]: Attack adjacent enemy
- [Space]: Stand still and advance game one tick
- [T]: Place tower
Very much a small little demo, with many areas that can be expand upon. I would for instance like to add more towers, more enemy types, more player weapons, more levels and more tiles that can be placed in the level. However, I am quite happy with the level of polish I managed to achieve within these 48 hours. Hope you enjoy!

I think that attacking is bugged (it doesn't account for character rotation) and also I got a browser popup when I died. Remember that you can fix bugs in this jam.
The only thing that is not very clear, is how I get hurt. It's not clear what causes my health to drain.
Other than that, nice entry.
Here's the VOD on YouTube to watch the gameplay, just skip to your chapter on the video!

One thing I saw that I do not think was intended was that the towers were able to shoot through walls.
All in all it was a great time! Great entry
I couldn't get through the third level, there was just too much going on from three sides, and I had to stay away from some of the action to pick up coins so I could afford more towers. That element adds interest, but is hard to balance it seems.
A solid concept and demo, with a few more touches this could be a fun product!
Great job
I liked the simple aesthetic and mechanics of your game !
