Protector of the light is a rouge-inspired tower defense game. Defend the burning light from hordes of enemies that storm your dungeon. Place your towers strategically, you have limited resources and limited space.

Very much a small little demo, with many areas that can be expand upon. I would for instance like to add more towers, more enemy types, more player weapons, more levels and more tiles that can be placed in the level. However, I am quite happy with the level of polish I managed to achieve within these 48 hours. Hope you enjoy!

Solid tower defense. Graphics look promising, sound effects are also on point.
I think that attacking is bugged (it doesn't account for character rotation) and also I got a browser popup when I died. Remember that you can fix bugs in this jam.

A great combination of rogue and TD mechanics. I think it could use some telegraphing of enemy intent, I found myself getting caught out by when they would attack. You mentioned there are areas you want to explore more, and I think you should! With more content around towers, combat, and enemies, I think this is a very promising idea. Well-executed for a compo game, and very nicely polished. Great job! :tada:

Really nice tower defense experience with good difficulty & ramp-up in difficulty for the 3 levels you managed to put in! Pleasent to look at and fits the theme well, great job!

The game would benefit a lot from a bit more development time as you already mentioned in the description. Different tower and enemy types would spice the game up quite a bit. Its good for a compo, keep it up and see where it goes!

Good tower defense game, I prefer when I only have to place turret or kill things with my sword (that's purely personal) but it's a good entry ! For me it should have a little music to pace the game a little more, outside this, sound effect are great and the art style is cute ! Well done !

Nice and simple. I liked it.
The only thing that is not very clear, is how I get hurt. It's not clear what causes my health to drain.
Other than that, nice entry.

Very good tower defense. Would be nice if there was a visual indication of when an enemy is going to make a move next. Would love to see this idea expanded on.

Tight demo, it seems like everything works! Best of luck if you choose to elaborate on it

Awesome little tower defense game! I really loved the pixel art. It was clear what was happening at all times and loved the simple but effective sound effects. Sometimes the enemies did predict where I was going which sometimes resulted in a death that felt a bit cheated. Some background music would also add a lot to this experience.

One thing I saw that I do not think was intended was that the towers were able to shoot through walls.

All in all it was a great time! Great entry

A tower defense/turn based dungeon combo, a novel idea! The art is cute, I appreciate the bouncy sprite movement you added to keep things visually interesting--turn based games can feel stale when there's only movement on the turns, otherwise.

I couldn't get through the third level, there was just too much going on from three sides, and I had to stay away from some of the action to pick up coins so I could afford more towers. That element adds interest, but is hard to balance it seems.

A solid concept and demo, with a few more touches this could be a fun product!

The concept is really cool. Wish that there were more level varieties - I would almost rather have some smaller bite sized challenges that required tighter problem solving/puzzle solving. There feels like there's so much that you could play into - particularly if you expanded on how the combat works with some different enemy types or attacks and such.
