Piper by Kjip

[raw]
made by Kjip for Ludum Dare 54 (COMPO)

Connect the pipes without overlapping to get to the end of this simple puzzle game!

Music, sounds, assets and code were all made by me. NOTE: I am aware that there are some bugs when placing pipes too fast or cutting corners over an already existing pipe. Just let go of the mouse and try drawing the pipe again, I made sure no game-breaking bugs are in there anymore. :)

This game fits the theme really well, except it is basically the same as a very popular mobile game called flow. Although it is very similar its still nice and the puzzles were very fun.

Nice concept and very fitting with the jam theme. Would have like a couple more levels, but I guess in the limited time for the jam, this works.
Loved the graphics and neon effect.

It's very well explained and it works quite well, you might want to go to another level, however I had some difficulty at certain angles to turn the pipe

Not really original and very basic levels, but wow the amount of polish on the graphics and sould design!
Nice work!

This is like that one game I played a long time ago. Short but sweet game, would've loved more complex rooms!

pretty fun game and interesting take on the theme. overall really well polished, both the graphics and audio are amazing although I did find the game hard to control at times

Very cool! 🙂

I liked the tutorial section. So many times I end up writing a novel for how to play one of my jam games, but you managed to solve it with just a couple of short, humorous lines! It's really "show, don't tell".

Well done! 😁

Just like the others, I want to complement the tutorial section, it's great.
The sounds design sticks out as well: I like the audio feedback.

A simple but effective design, only issue I have is... I want more levels because the game is fun :(

I remember playing a game with the exact same concept on my phone back in the days. Not necessarily original but I like those kind of game and yours is well done. The controls are responsive, the graphics are simple but nice as well as the audio. And the tutorial is really nice too. The only problem I have is that the levels are too simple, but its really hard to design a good puzzle :/

The levels were a bit too easy, but the execution was good. The controls felt nice and the sound/music were good.

Nicely executed jam! Every part of it is effective, from the "camera shake" when laying pipes, to the tutorial implemented into gameplay, to the audio feedback.

I have definitely seen the concept and gameplay in a mobile game once or twice before, wish you had the time to add something new to it. But hey, it's a clean version and it fits with the theme!

I was hoping for at least one more element of difficulty to be introduced. I liked the explanations and progression of the levels up to a certain point then found the later levels repetitive. Also seemed a little weird to me to have all the pipes disappear when clicking on a single color I would have liked more control over which got removed. And sometimes hard to control and tell whether or not I was able to drag the pipes. Overall good job!

I reached the end, it's one of the few puzzles that is really easy, but I agreed with the difficulty progression. I'm sure it would be more difficult if I had more time for more levels. I know. This is very much like Steam, I could see this game there lol. I thought it was brilliant. In so little time and you have something very solid here.

@zealous-coder thanks for playing! The game is coded so it should only remove the pipe you clicked on, not all the pipes currently drawn.. It seems you discovered a bug! :)
