I had a lot of fun, beat it in 13:07. I was op at the end and had full health at 20 so was able to just spam kill the boss!
While the wall building mechanic was fun to mess around with, in the context of the game, and the punishment of building one in the wrong place, it makes health less easy to work with than I feel it could be... At the beginning of each round it feels as though it's impossible not to take damage with how many enemies there are in your way, and then by the end of it it's so easy not to take damage that there's no real threat to be had -- which isn't a problem by any means, but the way your lost health piles on over time makes it hard to deal with. I didn't beat the game, but I got to the final wave with only 5 or 6 health of my 30, because every battle before that I'd have to sacrifice health to get past the first brunt of enemies, and be left without a way to regenerate it (other than the occasional health based upgrades which were *fantastic,* if not a little too hard to go without for a random chance heal)
The mood of the game felt as though I was supposed to be taking it fast like a bullet hell, but because health management stopped me from rushing enemies, the best strategy was to wait around until one wandered into a corner -- and reading your description makes it sound like that's what you were going for, but with how many enemies there are, and the way the music and detonations contrast against that threw me off a little bit.
Other than that, I really enjoyed it, like everything you all put together! Most of my issues with it were really just because of the games that *I specifically* play, taking some lessons from there to this different genre. The art was lovable, the mechanics easy to grasp, the music well produced; I just had one or two problems to address, but it was amazing overall!
(sorry to come in with another paragraph of critiques, I hope my feedback is helpful! :S)
I beat it in just over 7 minutes!

The music is really good and addictive to listen to. I'm not surprised you made it a rogue-like, when I saw the choice of 3 cards, I was delighted! It took a little while to get used to. I like how clear it is that the wall spell failed and rebounds to hurt you.

So far the only game in the jam that I've played until completion. It's really, very good! Another 5/5, you've smashed it out of the park yet again!
its like the next iteration of Jezzball!!!

You added some nice touches here, being able to jump on the walls. Having it so you could detonate part of the wall early. Awesome to see what you could accomplish with so little time!
Seems like a great concept for a full game too.
The music was cool, and the gameplay was solid. the art was a bit mish-mashed, but that happens in a jam.
thanks!

The music it really nice and the attack of the player is quite unique. I felt the controls for the character were pretty slow at first but that's because of the bonuses you can have
It was great to meet you guys again on ludumdare. Very great game. nice job!
