[raw]
made by Erivas_Soulares for Ludum Dare 54 (JAM)

You mighty kingdom wants to expand its frontiers, so embark on a campaing against an army of imps!

Due to logistic reasons, you can only deploy 5 soldiers to the ground... but they didn't say anything about sending they out in another way...

Stack one soldier on top of each other to conquest the world with this overly specific limitation!

::Instructions::

Move your units on your board with WASD or Arrow Keys.

Merge them in a '2048' way.

Once you're stisfied with your troop, or you urge for some defences, press SPACE to drop your best unit into a Lane.

Remember, you can only have 5 soldiers on the ground, so better stack a lot of little mans one over the other, to fight like a absolute unit!

::Know Bugs:: (That was quickly)

Sometimes enemy units spawn dead for no reason. Consider it a bonus (It come in handy in later levels) Sounds are turning off durind the gameplay.

Fun game, i like the mix of the 2 concepts a lot. Animations are fluid and cute, with sound and music that mixes very well. The Controlls are easy picked up and make sense.
Balancing could be imprived, like speed of units and damage/health. 1 Knight is stroger then a goblin and, so the stacking of units is not needed as much. Sometimes the stacking feels little "clunky" would like if i could fasten it up with fast stacking of units.
Overvall 4/5 :)

I just want to stack troops. I don't care about the goblins. TO THE MOON AND BEYOND.

Jokes aside, really fun game. It is just a shame that the level ends at the first troop reaching the end. Most of the time I am in the middle of creating a big stack which I am sad about to lose

I really like this creative combination. The style is also nice and consistent. The only problem is that balancing wise the stacking is not required since one soldier on each lane wins the round most of the times.
Still an absolutely good game though ^^

The controls are a bit confusing, but after I get it (with 3rd try), it's a potentially fun idea! Also good animations and music

I know it's a jam game, but it's so frustrating to see all the bugs because the idea is super fun ! In addition, the graphics are super cute and with some more work I could really sink some time in it.

Very interesting concept and lots of fun to play. One issue I had was the soldiers not landing on a square so became unable to move/stack. Art and sound fitted perfectly. Very well done. Good stuff :8ball:

I like the idea of adding a time pressure component to 2048. The wobbling animation of a huge stack of soldiers is a fun touch. Well done!

really nice graphics and feel, would love for it to be a bit faster and smoother in terms of controls, like the moment i press another soldier spawns and i can press immediately after that, other than that nice work!

Interesting combination of game genres, conceptually the stacking of units fits well as an army builder mechanic. However, the 2048 section feels a little sluggish mainly because when compared to the actual 2048, there is a longer "cooldown" on making moves. I suspect you made this choice to balance the number of units you could create, but the problem with it is that it will always be compared to the fluidity of the original. Still, I'll give you props for trying to innovate. The graphics and audio suited the gameplay well, it was relatively simple but well executed. Not a bad entry for a 3 day jam, kudos.

Very nice pixel art and nice animations. Interesting idea, it's fun to collect towers of soldiers

The concept is interesting, and there's a lot of potential, especially considering the popularity of games like 2048. It would be interesting to see how design and ranking evolve as more units are stacked. However, there seem to be some bugs where enemy units start and die, leaving lanes empty. This can lead to winning matches without needing to stack powerful units. Sending troops to all lanes often resulted in victory in most matches.

@ahbee-studio-nex-us The enemy spawning was some of the latest features i've implemented...
Since it was pretty late, I couldn't propperly test it. But I will fix it on the next iteration, along with some other cool feedback i've been receiving!

Thanks for playing Ahbee o/

I like the idea, and the vibe is cutesy and fun. I think I would make the controls a little snappier, maybe speed things up a bit. With some more depth added I could see it being a really fun game!

I really liked this game. The combination of the unit combining and the tower defence aspect was really nice. The art was amazing and I really enjoyed the music too! I found the game a little unbalanced. Since all you needed to do was get one unit to the end of a lane, you could put one weak unit in every lane and win pretty easily. On my first attempt I saw a big goblin/ogre but I never aw it again. I feel like an enemy waves approach to this would balance it and make it more fun - you have to choose when you deploy your strong unit to wipe out a lane. But overall, this was a lot of fun - great work!

This is pretty cool concept, but you can usually win by just quickly spamming first soldier. What really annoyed me was the "2048" implementation - all those animations and enforced slowdowns made it feel clunky and unresponsive - if it was it at least a bit faster... (i might have played for longer :)
