Hangout Bandwidth is a game about frustrating hangouts with friends that just don't seem to let you sneak even a single word in.

Hear what your friends say and decide whether to AGREE, DISAGREE, ASK for an explanation or simply CHANGE the topic. Seize a conversational pause or risk frustrating your friends by interrupting them. Remember though, the more popular ppl may not let you do so even if you try.

And, of course, we all know hangouts are not about having fun but about playing the popularity game. Say what others expect to hear and they'll like you more. Interrupt them or say what they don't expect and see your popularity tank.

The game can be played using mouse or keyboard. Or both if you're feeling frisky.

Lovely aesthetics; looks very professional! I'm not sure whether the gameplay didn't quite land or it landed *perfectly*. I felt confused and frustrated because I couldn't quite figure out how to progress effectively... which is *exactly* how the kind of hangout depicted here actually works in real life! So, success? Either way, this is something really interesting that stands out from the crowd, and that's something to be celebrated. Nice entry!

I don't see what is with the theme. Music is okay but I don't know what the hell am I supposed to do with this game?
What is the objective? What is the goal? There is no goal, am I just standing there being a tree? And somehow, this game sounds too similar to my life. You should consider that you are kinda way too out of the orbit for the theme. The key word is "Limited Space"

@mindhijacker, we did try to interpret the theme a little bit less physical. I don't know how much we managed, but we wanted to make a game about having very limited space to express yourself in a conversation, the way it happens at some hangouts with ppl that are very eager to hear their own voices.

We did pick up the game suffers a bit from lack of clarity about what the player is supposed to do. Our intention was to give them a realistic choice: to just sit there and listen, intervene with their own opinions, or try to play the popularity game (avoid interrupting people and focus on saying what others would like to hear, indicated by their thought bubbles). Kinda like in real life :))
