Rosie's Escape: A Humble RPG Adventure
Welcome to Rosie's Escape, a modest RPG adventure that marks our first foray into game development. In the spirit of learning and growing as game creators, we decided to follow the tutorial by ShaunJS available on YouTube and use assets from https://shaunjs.itch.io/shauns-action-rpg-tutorial. While our game may lack the glitz and grandeur of more established titles, it holds a special place in our hearts as a labor of love and a stepping stone towards future endeavors.
Rosie's Journey Begins
In Rosie's Escape, you'll join our protagonist, Rosie, who embarks on a straightforward adventure. Her journey begins in a tranquil village nestled amidst lush, pixelated landscapes. The game's visuals and mechanics, heavily inspired by ShaunJS's tutorial, create a charming and nostalgic ambiance that is bound to evoke feelings of nostalgia for classic RPGs.
A Simple World to Explore
The world of Rosie's Escape may not boast vast, sprawling landscapes, but it does offer a carefully crafted environment filled with delightful surprises. The limited scope of our game allows us to focus on creating a cozy and intimate experience.
Endearing Characters and Creatures
While Rosie's journey may not be filled with epic battles against dragons or world-saving quests, it is populated with endearing characters and creatures that add depth to the story. Interact with quirky NPCs, each with their own unique personalities.
Low-Stakes Challenges
In Rosie's Escape, you won't find adrenaline-pumping combat or mind-bending puzzles. Instead, the game offers a series of low-stakes challenges that encourage players to strategize and problem-solve in a leisurely manner. The challenges are approachable and rewarding.
A Gradual Learning Curve
The game features a gentle learning curve, allowing players to become acquainted with RPG mechanics and basic gameplay elements. It's an ideal entry point for those new to the genre or gaming in general.
Feedback Welcome
As fledgling game developers, we value your feedback and encouragement. Rosie's Escape is a reflection of our journey thus far, and we look forward to hearing your thoughts and suggestions to help us grow and improve. Your support means the world to us as we take our first steps in the world of game development.
In Conclusion
Rosie's Escape is an unpretentious RPG adventure that embodies our humble beginnings as game creators. With inspiration drawn from ShaunJS's tutorial and assets from https://shaunjs.itch.io/shauns-action-rpg-tutorial, it serves as both a learning experience and a heartfelt expression of our passion for gaming. We invite you to join Rosie on her modest escapade, explore our quaint world, and share in the joy of our first game development endeavor. Thank you for being a part of our journey.

1. After entering to the shop I can't leave it. Every time the game returns me back to show :) There is only one solution - F5. But after three tries I have no new slots for a game. And I have no chance to exit from shot...

2. There are errors sometimes...

May be I'll try this game after fixes again, but not now :(
Nevertheless, the style and vibe are cute.
There's a couple of things I need to mention:
It would help if you add a list of controls in the description. I had to figure out to find what key did what. Here's the list of controls in case anyone else needs it :)
### Controls
* SPACE to roll
* SHIFT to attack with sword
* Q and E to change item
* CTRL to use item
* With bombs: CTRL to use one, SPACE to throw it
Also it would be useful if the items in the shop had a visible price. I ended up getting enough coins to buy everything twice because I didn't know how much I needed hahah
I found it a cute game overall. Good job!
Overall, I'd say it's a pink take on Zelda-style game, and I do like pink. There seem to be some bugs and issues as of now, entering the building zone is confusing&bit too wide, roll I would make shorter, BIG THANKS to @edearth for writing down the controls!! I wouldn't be able to do much without that helpful comment. Then, I learned how to attack, and you even made an animation for this, but I think it could be made a bit more clear. Coins look cute.
Suddenly, my character just made off the screen for no reason in particular and I never saw her again.

Would love to see more tweaks&improvements in the future!
Also, Shift key is not really a good choice for attack, since it triggers the Sticky Keys banner (Seriously, has Sticky Keys ever been used by anyone? I only remember its existance in this sort of situations...)
