Storage Overflow 2 by Andreas Roschal

[raw]
made by Andreas Roschal for Ludum Dare 54 (JAM)

In Storage Overflow 2 you have to load up way too many items onto way too small delivery trucks. The longer you play the more challenging and hectic the game becomes.

The floor displays in front of each truck lane indicate which items are required for the current orders to be fulfilled. The truck only leaves once all items have been loaded up or the truck's timer runs out.

Missing an item from an order causes you to lose life points. Reach zero and you lose the game. See how long you can survive and how many orders you manage to fulfill.

This game was inspired by our entry from Ludum Dare 42 and shows how far we have come since then.

I think it is a great way to adapt the theme. Graphics are so cute and it is such a fun game. :)

Good entry, it seemed pretty polished, with great graphics and sfx. i also loved the "pick a handicap" as well. I think you should maybe try and use physics when picking up objects, that way furniture won't be pushed around as easily.

Really fun game, nice graphics. Had a lot of fun fighting with the physics!

Love the graphic and the collision interactions, threw multiple objects across the screen which I was trying to be fast. I like that we got to chose how to make the next day harder.

I thought that you need to put the items in those white areas and was really confused there for a second. And when picking stuff up after it fell from a truck, it doesn't get high enough and glitches heavily when trying to put it back. I really liked the whole concept though! Quite unique and fun.

@thejonu You can use the mouse wheel to change the height of an item while it is being held. That way you can lift it up again from the lower area. We didn't have enough time for an in-game tutorial, so controls are only explained on the game's page unfortunately.

I'm impressed, this is really cool! The graphics are great, the music is fun, and I loved that you made a reverse upgrade system. It could be a bit frustarting or finicky at times (especially when you accidentally knock stuff off and the truck goes on its way!) but this is a really nice concept and great execution!

- I didn't realize you need to put the items on the truck at first because of the area behind it
- I think the trucks could be a bit wider
- sometimes objects clipped through the truck 😅

Great game! the graphics are clean, and the controls feel intuitive. I didn't realize right away that the items need to go IN the truck and not on that square.

But once I figured it out, I was having a great time. It was also fun putting stuff on a table and throwing it across the world.

Solid entry!

every mechanic is perfect. This could be released. It seems you can spam "more orders per day" forever without the game getting harder, so the difficulty curve could be made steeper somehow.
