Music is also on point, loved it.
I feel that the number of creatures spawned should increase a lot as time goes by - I found a corner to defend and I was basically able to sit there indefinitely
I would've loved some more enemy diversity, with their attacks, maybe some zones they claim, which would damage the player aditionally or something.
Also some kind of upgrades for the player would've been nice!
But this is a solid game and fits the theme well!
Well done, I like it!
As a bonus, it would have been nice to have little loots on monsters to improve our shooting or torches. And the fact that you can shoot at enemies who are dying makes the clean-up quite frustrating, as you save your shots to wait for the mob to disappear completely before continuing to shoot, whereas the pleasure of shooting encourages you to go for the kill.
But otherwise a great concept!

The core concept is a great starting place, but I found myself a little disappointed that the torch mechanic felt like it was encouraging me to explore and find stuff, but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be anything to find.
I think the difficulty needed to ramp up a bit, I found a position on the map I could stand still and shoot basically every enemy approaching and never be in any danger which is a shame.
Overall it's simple, well implemented and very nice looking and feeling, I think it's a great submission, awesome work!
The idea behind the gameplay was interesting, but as mentioned by other the difficulty was somewhat lacking. I dropped out after 600 kills with no end in sight.
An idea to prevent camping in the same spot could be to make the torches stock refill with an item spawning at pre-determined places on the map, forcing the players to move around in order to keep getting torches (I originally thought the game was working that way before seeing the refill meter for the torch). It would be more difficult to balance though, as running out of torches would lock the player in the same spot.
Congrats on your jam!
Good job!
This game has some legs and meat on it, and I'd love to see something like this on Steam one day. Don't stop making games, and certainly don't stop making pixel art!! Absolutely lovely game.
Wanted to ask for score chasers if you were fine with me playing some gameplay of your game in the background in the waiting period / intermission. In the waiting period its going to cycle between gameplay of a bunch of different games in the background (with music from games in the jam playing as well)
