Station 6 by nardandas

made by nardandas for Ludum Dare 54 (JAM)

Little space station puzzle-like platformer. Was kinda aimless until the last 12 or so hours, I had the platformer guy not nothing to do.

Really incredible mood in this one. Cool soundtrack too! (Side note, the webplayer embed on this page isn't working for me on Chrome. It works fine on itch.io though!)

Pretty cool! I like the atmosphere. I think having the lights come on per area would have made it a little more rewarding. I got stuck when I interacted with the power box, not sure if that was the end of the level. Would have liked to play a bit more!

The atmosphere is really nice! I'd have liked a little more clarity about iteractions at the start of the game, but once I got the hang of it, it was fine.
Well done!

Great combination of colors and music. The levels were a bit tricky with how dark they were to start, so it makes figuring out what to do next trickier. Perhaps a tutorial level with the lights on (maybe emergency lighting or something like that) would help to make it clear that the lines are ladders. Otherwise, the gameplay of climbing them and clambering up ledges was very fun.

Awesome game! Take my 5/5 on mood. I really liked the movement aspect, line-based platforms approach is quite interesting on it's own.

The mood was excellent! I got stuck after unlocking the additional power; wasn't sure how to progress through the top-left room, I didn't seem to be able to jump high enough to reach any of the climbable geometry.

This was amazing, so atmospheric. The palette and pixel art style fit perfectly, and the puzzle elements (once I figured out how to turn the first light on) were a joy to discover. The only problem I had was that I soft locked myself by doing part out of order - once you commit and enter the final room, looks like you cannot get back (due to the height of the 3 switch box top right corner) XD.
Amazing work!

I love your game! The mood is very particular, the music sounds very good ! I pass the first room but I stayed stuck on the second door room and I can' turn back to turn on the interuptor. Very Nice for solo game ! Congrats !

The controls were very confusing at first, mostly because of how dark the first scene is. I didn't understand I could control something, and understanding what was going on took a while, even with the light dot on the character. It gets better after playing in the first room for a bit.

Couldn't understand some of the puzzle elements (O2? Power?), but that's probably just me.

The intro cutscene was a bit long, but the art direction and the audio were really good to set the mood. I might revisit it and try to go further, I'm really intrigued by it but couldn't get to the end yet.

Oh man, I love the artstyle so much, the pixel art mixed with that warm glow from bloom looks really great, and the gameplay is great too. But I did have a few issues with the controls but nothing major. Great entry! (~ ̄³ ̄)~

The artstyle and music is perfect! When I started the game I didnt understand much, but it quickly taught me everything I needed and switching the lights on for the first time was actually a nice "AHA" moment ^^
The puzzles were great and I enjoyed it from start to finish ^^

Enjoyed it a lot.

I started with the web version but getting out of the control box with escape conflicted with getting out of fullscreen (needed to get out of fullscreen, exit the control box, go back to fullscreen), so I switched to the executable.

I liked the "no information policy" on what to do, and figuring stuff out was great for my taste. The soft lock that other people mentioned happened to me twice (top left room, top right part of the room), and having to restart the game and redo things was annoying especially since there was no reason (that I know off) to lock the player there, so I'm assuming it's an oversight and not intentional.

Another small issue is that the control box "items" (O2, Power) where hard to see, having the background opaque would probably have helped.

The graphics, sound, music, animations and controls where great. Good job.

Nice simple aesthetics with good sounds. Make it really me feel like in a space station! Nice level design. Great!

interesting game. I like the minimalism and the story. I have two small complaints

I got to a place where I can't escape without having to shut down the game (see image)

and in the html version, when I put the game on full screen and go to the menu to set oxygen and energy to other rooms, when I press the ESC button, I don't get out of the menu, but the game is minimized.

but otherwise it's great, I like the graphics and the music. control is great too.. i want to conquer this game! :D :)

OH! Thank you for the screenshot. I also see the issue with ESC. Thanks for the feedback!!

Awesome work! A lot of others have said this already, but the pixel art and audio meld perfectly to create a perfect atmosphere. I think for me the lighting system was more frustrating than not when entering a new room, but I think there's definitely something to be explored with that mechanic.

Great job!

pretty cool music and atmosphere. I like how turning off the system power has it's own track that's overlayed on top of the normal level music. Visuals are nice and consistent.

The control panel in the first room could use some explaining as it's hard to tell what it's doing initially, and having to go to each room to check if double power actually did anything wasn't super fun. The character should definitely be faster, as most of the time you know what to do but you have to go across the map to do it. Platforming itself was fun tho, the climbable/walkable platforms were pretty cool

very good game overall, great job

Seems neat. Got kinda confused at the start because I thought I was just that one pixel until the lights went on. Couldn't figure out what to do after getting to the control panel. I tried giving oxygen and power to different rooms but I couldn't get past that one door in room two or make any progress in room 3. I might have gone further if the player was a bit faster. It took a while going back and forth.

the game is quite interesting, it was fun to play, everything was done well, both the controls and the game design itself
