Story

Pokoe wants to relax after a hard week, but she lost her cat and batteries for her gameboy in the forest. To make things a little more complicated, she left the forest a little unkempt from the last invasion and it looks like some nasty dudes are still being summoned in to take her out.

Cute game, cute art, and really nice music!

The gameplay worked well, and the I enjoyed the retro style.

Suggestions:
- I would have liked a bit more space to run around and fight the summoned monsters
- There's currently an unusual interaction whereby if you shoot a bullet while there is already a bullet in the air, the first bullet gets destroyed mid-flight. I think it would be better for the player if that didn't happen

Overall:
- Nice, short and fun game with a cute aesthetic!

Love the background music, sword sfx was a bit too loud but music was really chill.
Art is good, I found the grass to be a bit too noisy, but character art was great.

A bit easy, especially with all the carrots, but was fun short experience!

not a bad little game. for me personally i would have chosen to use the mouse to aim and left click to shoot. was pretty hard to kill things with space bar. but over all was nice little game.

Like everyone else, I think the Art and music are top notch. I especially like the little "anime run" the player character does.

I appreciate that the game has a very small size and loads quickly. The gameplay is generally clear. I would improve the controls and add mouse aiming (turning the weapon towards the cursor). It might also be more interesting if, after dying, you could respawn in the last room instead of at the beginning of the game. The music is great.

This is excellent! I love the story, the visual style and the cat behavior (haha :). The controls are a bit unpolished: I feel the movement was too fast and "slippery"; also, movement could be wasd and aiming+shooting could be arrow keys (maybe a setting to swap move and aiming keys). But the controls as is works well enough, so it's fine. Oh, and the background music was awesome! Too bad the game is so short. Anyway, good work! :)

Cute game - loved the music! The cat was so realistic I thought I was playing Stray. It was a little short - would have been nice to have a bit more gameplay. Nice work!

Love the art, love the background music. Honestly better than most of the jam games I played, let alone compo games! The mechanic of shooting the last direction you ran was very strange and made for some silly and interesting interactions like me sprinting into a corner and turning around really fast to mash the space bar. I really liked this, great work!

Every bit was clean and well done. The music was light and fun but not intrusive. There were some mechanics that I don't feel were well explained but I figured them out in time.

The art was cute.

Honestly, all in all a solid compo entry.

Cool game! The shooting mechanic fixed on last direction was a bit weird at start but after couple of tries I understood how to beat all the enemies. Also nice music, good work!

Relaxing game in the beginning, but it goes for 0 to 60 reaaal fast haha, I like it though. The graphics all fit together very nicely and the addition of the cat is a very welcome addition :grin: The music and sounds fit well to the game too

I love how you incorperated the credits and Ludum Dare logo into the first screen the player sees. That is clever design and something I will try out next time :-)

Great game, I love the little naruto run the character does lol - the controller feels surprisingly fluid for a jam game! I wish it went on a bit longer, but its still great nonetheless!!!

Liar, that was the most unrealistic cat behavior ever :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Cute game with a cute witch and a cute cat and soothing music. Some instructions on how to play the game wouldn't hurt.

The game was super cute! I was a little confused in the beginning before I realized that how to shoot stuff but it was a lot of fun. The music and graphics were wonderful. The only problem for me was having to line myself up properly to aim correctly but other than that it was very fun. Well done!

Cute little game. I think the shots sometimes got absorbed by the knocked enemies, and it felt weird when the character didn't change facing and was looking to the left but shooting to the right. The shots felt pretty generous which was nice.
