Pleasant game, I enjoyed it. A classic card game well executed with a nice background. The graphics & sounds are great. Nice job !

I liked this game. The graphics were particularly nice. Many of the weapons pointed the wrong way (towards the wizards instead of the plant) and the 3-cost weapon felt underpowered, but was a fun play.

Gardening Wizards and bad puns. What's not to like? Fun little game.

It's a fun game, i thought it was gonna be easier the entire way through but it got prgresively more challenging, which is surprising for a jam game. it seemed a little bit off topic tho. Nonetheless Good job mates

Really fun game. This boss nearly one shot me but other than that the game felt well balanced for a jam entry. I especially liked the pixel graphics and the gardening theme. Well done!

Nice little cards game, the game looks pretty cool. Gameplaywise i got unlucky a few turns an felt like i could only stall but turns go quick so it wasn't really a problem. Good job!

I love it! It reminds me of Slay the Spire. I liked the variety of things you could do with the cards. I think I ran into a bug, though. After I beat the first plant, the text on the cards disappeared?

While I am personally not fond of card battlers, this was a good bit of fun. I loved the pixel art work, pristine work!

This was a really fun game, I hope to see you expand on it, as I would love to play more - I completed it on the second go as I knew what to look for then. Great work, well done!

The game feels alive with all of the animations and the great looking sprites. I personally would have liked the animation to be a bit quicker, but otherwise I enjoyed the game loop a lot. Really cool that you managed to create a card game in such a short time, well done! :)

Don't you just love playing slay the spire but with plants?

JKJK but it's a neat little game on the jam, I thoroughly enjoyed the wizard's quips

I had a weird bug: All the text disappeared after first round. I was however able to complete the game without any texts! I really liked this game, one of the best games I have reviewed so far! Gameplay was good, sounds did the job and really liked the graphics.

Can't beat the boss but was a nice game! Cards are very comprehensive, we can think in advace. I liked the buff until the enemy dies to regain life. Randomness feels very random tho, like sometimes you have only defensive cards and can't really attack enough so you just die. Would have liked to have some extra bonus cards for next games so you have more energy per turn and/or life to go further in the game.

@martta Thanks so much for the review! Have been trying to reproduce that issue but had no luck. If you don't mind, what browser were you using when playing?

@thormoth Firefox on Mac. It happens very consistently 100% of the time. It happens always when I press End Turn button.

I killed the big mushroom, woop =) I think the core game loop is quite fun, could make the animation a bit snappier at the beginning after selecting a card. The dialogue adds a lot, great work!

Cute concept! I was killed by RootMan, cause all the cards were about damage and I needed heal

Overall very fun!

Notes:

The dialogue text feels too slow being printed out.

I would have liked to see an auto end turn feature when you spend all your mana.

Not a great match for the theme, but hey its different than all the draw a summon circle/guess our runic language games lol!

That was fun!

The spray having the same "throw" animation as everything else made me smile, and that's very appreciated.

I kinda wish the gear animations would play out a bit faster, as there's not that much to do while waiting for them to finish.

I'm really glad the Root Demon thingy was the last one, as it left me on 1 HP, but I've still managed to defeat it!

The RNG of tools feels a bit weird in that not once throughout my playthrough I've seen a max damage roll (are you sure you've used inclusive random range?)

Overall, I liked the experience and I think I'd play more, if you'd add more content and polish. Thanks for the game!
