Pictomancer by RobLaro
Utilise forbidden relics and draw glyphs in your tomes of power to achieve the ultimate summoning, in this incremental/idler!

How to Play
Select a book and start recording your glyph drawing. Make sure to stay in the lines to complete the image to power up the book. When placed on the pedestals the powered up books will replay your drawing and send off spirits.
Placing relics onto the tree stumps will power up your drawing ability and the books on the pedestals. Taking advantage of the relics is key to the summoning.
Reaching enough spirits per second will complete the summoning!
Tools: Unity, Blender, Clip Studio Paint, Procreate, ChipTone.
17 April 2024 edit: highlighted the refill button as it was an unclear mechanic.

Nice little idle game sort of!
Nice graphics, Good job!
This game's vibe is super chill, I really like it! The art is so cute, and I like the drawing mechanic, it's very vibey, great work!
It look really polished, well done
Two thought about what I didn't like:
1. In later parts of the game book price is very high. But when you spend 900+ souls, you have a chance to get the simplest book and you have to wait two or so minutes to buy another one :(
2. Summon process is very long to wait :( It would be great to see multiple summons, but less in time for each.
Thank you for your hard work on the game!
It's a bit hard to draw with the mouse I think it would be easier with a stylus.
I love the art style too, good job !
IMO, it'd be better if you remove blood limit and let player draw as long as it wants, but faster drawing makes more spirits per second. And ofcourse in this case you should punish player for drawing in wrong places.
Anyway, great idea, you can make a really interesting and unique clicker with that. Thanks!
Tiny suggestions: UI can be a bit confusing. It was hard for me to figure out how to start recording, and I took even longer to figure out the refill button. Some UI designing here would be great^^ (Like highlighting the refill button when out of ink, also highlight the start button) Also it's easy to accidentally close the book when trying to refill in a rush. All small nice-to-have points though
Great game overall and loved to see an expanded version!
5 stars obviuosly, devilishly addictive!

Great work!!!
PD: I also made an incremental/idle game for this LD (much simpler, though) just in case you wanna try it :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
The art was also super cute and fit the theme wonderfully! Really well done! I enjoyed this one quite a bit :D
Congrats!
a screen a bit before i accidentelly close the game tab -.-'''

I also like the gameplay, it's simple but very addictive, I have been playing for quite a bit. I like the variety of patterns it keeps things fresh, great entry!
It's a very nice and cozy concept with unique mechanics. Enjoyed playing it :)
Real neat and unique, managed to hit a 112/sec before calling it quits. Lovely assets, loved the little ghost guy!
simple yet very intuitive and engaging
had a blast playing it
10/10

Summoning my time
Pretty cool ! Congrat
It's not something I usually think about how much harder it is to draw slight curves with a mouse than any lines.
really love the concept, with some practice I was much better at drawing. Although I had to try a couple of times as the rng screwed me over and gave me just bones the first try. So I had a very bad luck there. The drawing sound is very scratchy and I had to unfortunately mute the sound but its sad because the other sfx were really nice and relaxing.
Overall, I had fun and wanted to see more.

Lovely work!
I love how the game records and shows the progress of drawing, and how it's not just about trying to draw with a mouse (I could plug in my graphic tablet I suppose... xD) and it being a challenge, it's also a bit of an idle/clicker game in its essence, and as such it feels complete and perfectly polished.
The visuals are flawless as well, and it just feels incredibly cozy <3
And for me, as someone who is very much a newbie in programming, it feels magical how you managed to create this whole system. In the vision I had for my game I wanted the player to draw the runes (as a mini game) themselves, but I didn't know how to do it, so resorted to showing a list of runes instead for the player to choose a correct one. But you also did so much more than just drawing - there is a small detail of having to refill your ink (blood?) and objects to make the process faster/easier, and that one thing I mentioned above that blew me away - showing *exactly* how I personally drew the symbol. Really, mind-blowing +_+
I think my only complaint is that sometimes games says I am done when I think I am not.

^Here, I first did the triangle and then went from left to right on the half-circle as it's easier for me to move in that way. I couldn't connect the lines - the game told me the symbol is ready and didn't let me draw anymore. I would love it if after *I* think I am done I could click outside the paper or on the REC button again to tell the game the symbol is ready, as my perfectionism is killing me with this gap (and that wasn't a single occurrence)
*It is nice, however, there is an option to try again. I didn't realize that right away! But the issue with the gaps still stands!
*Also, it would be great to add a saving option in the future, and with that it can already be published as a complete cozy game. Playing bit by bit in the evenings or during work breaks, with the ability to save my progress, would be such a nice and comforting experience ^v^
