I love the intro comic thing. So cute. Let slime have his tea! And then that wizard has the nerve to stand there with tea. Also, I love the animation for the slime swallowing the stone, and how you then see the stone in the slime. Music was good, and sfx too.
A fairly standard puzzle platformer as far as the scope goes, but very well executed. The puzzle design was on point, between the spikes coming out with steps and the timed one it offered a good variety of "I see how this goes" but then surprise there are hidden spikes and you need to adjust your solution or pay attention to where the gaps are.
Confidently going to a resting platform only to pleasantly get stabbed by some spikes behind grass :ok_hand:
The difficulty was good too, with the timing requirements and hidden spikes adding some challenge, but not demanding extreme precision and not relying on random/uncontrollable elements makes for a good progression as you're closer to mastering the level with each failure until you complete it.
I'm not sure if there are multiple endings, but I made sure to crush wizard before reaching the artefact, though he was still able to send me back to the broken tea set. Dabblin' in some necromancy ay ?
Anyhow, I had a great time playing ! Great entry !
Love the fact that you gave some breathing room with the hitboxs. Otherwise the spikes would have been a nightmare to avoid.
Very well designed levels!
Nice job!
the wizard art is really funny to me, I feel like having to eat a boulder in order to jump different is an interesting mechanic. Also plays pretty clean
I did get stabbed through a rock I was standing on though, which honestly made me quite upset at the time as that was the furthest I'd gotten in the level after like 10 mins and the falling spiky rock things set the precedent that you couldn't get stabbed through them. But then again, this is not my forte and I still played through till the end :)
Great job, what a polished submission, both in game design/balance and overall experience!
I got stuck at one level where you have to… maybe do a tiny jump to get over a big chasm? Or grab a rock to be able to jump less high and go through it? I don’t know, tried both, still died!
But it’s cute, I liked the intro cutscene and the funny music (… though I have to admit that it kind of got on my nerves when I got stuck ^^’)
Nitpick: Improve the wizard summon animation as it barely seems like a summon, so maybe the blob being built/summoned after it dies with the wizard performing a more complex spell to do it. The instant swing is barely noticeable
Nitpick 2: WASD support ^^
Again these are nitpicks, not necessarily point-reducers
Overall very easygoing and simple and I can see myself running the full game
Graphics were cute, the controls were a bit floaty, but solid.
My only gripe with the game is that it has nothing to do with the theme...
Overall, a great 2D platformer!
I wasn't very good at it at first!
All round Great Work!
