💡 The game concept

🎯 Goal:

Take on the role of the Lich, using your deck of summoned monsters to battle through waves of foes and repair the damage caused by your cursed magic. Strategize, summon, and conquer each level to cleanse the land of darkness.

⚙️ Game Mechanics

* [🌀] Summoning Monster :* As the Lich, you have a deck of cards representing various monsters. Each monster card has attributes such as mana cost, health, damage, and unique effects

* [⏳] Round-Based Combat :* Each round, your enemy automatically spawns a wave of creatures. You must strategically choose which monsters to summon to counter these waves.

* [🗺️] Field Setup :* Before starting a round, arrange your summoned monsters on the battlefield. Consider their strengths, weaknesses, and abilities to form the most effective strategy.

* [⚔️] Battle Resolution : * Once the round begins, watch as your summoned monsters clash with the enemy's creatures. Damage is dealt, abilities trigger, and the outcome of each battle depends on your choices and the cards in play.

* [📋] Resource Management :* Mana is a crucial resource. Use it wisely to summon powerful monsters and turn the tide of battle in your favor.

📊 Monster Attributes

* [🧫] Mana :* The cost to summon the monster.

* [❤️] Health :* The amount of damage the monster can take before being defeated.

* [💥] Damage:* The amount of damage the monster deals when attacking.

* [✨] Special Effects:* Some monsters may have special abilities or area of effect attacks.

📈 Progression

* [✅] Level Completion:* Each level presents a new challenge, with increasing difficulty as you progress.

* [🛠️] Repairing the Damage:* Defeating waves of enemies helps repair the damage caused by the Lich's curse. The goal is to cleanse each level of darkness and bring balance back to the realm.

* 📜 Story *

Since the most ancient times in the dark history of this magic world Kingdoms and nations we re buit just to face theyr demise. The primordials forces that created this wonderfull planet full of beautifull scenery and inhabitants; wonderfull frozen lakes sorrounded by the clouds in the far and cold north. Well hidden in the midst of the mountain peaks, so high that you could almost touch the skyes. Where the master craftsmen dwarves live. Vast oceans full of life, inhabitated by the merman. Endless evergreen plains granting rich harvests to the ingenious inhabitants: the humans. Pristine forests, rich in wildlife, plants, trees and tribes of beastmen. Harmoniously coesisting toghether under the gentle oversight by the elves, forest's keeper. Unfortunately every coin has two faces. If the first one is full of life and light, then, the other one is bound to have darkness and demise. blazing deserts filled whit hidden dangers and monsters. Deep abyss in the vast ocean lurking whit dangerous and horrors. barren and unholy lands filled whit death and nothing but despair and desecrated beings, held alive only by the hatred and wicked magic. Continuously trying to invade the land of the living. Only the mighty walls and armies born from the union of all the races is capable of blocking this evil far and far away. Even tho no matter how sturdy, how powerfull, how adamant, how resilient the struggle is. The tiniest crack albeit small even invisible to the eye and mind of the living. Doom always lurk near waiting for the right moment to strike. One of the most Powerfull and important kingdoms of the mens. The Aldoria kingdom, his monarch, * Yargai * a kind and right one, beloved from the people. Started to meddle in to a wicked form of magic, the same magic originated from the barren lands. He hoped to find a cure to this everlasting plague that no one could end. Little he knew what his action would've brought whit such a wiked and unknown power. A curse broke out, the kingdom got invaded, the dead walked the streets. Yargai became a vessel to this power, shifting his appearence and morphing him in to a litch entering in to a deep slumber. Soon after the balance at the front broke. The mighty walls collapsed and the lands of the living became hell. Despair and destruction poured down like thunder in clear sky. For many decades the living were losing this war day by day they were pushed a bit more in to the few lands they were left whit. Hope was lost only darkness remains. Untill the living were offered help by a misterious litch, Yargai awakened from is slumber, after many decades. terrified of what he had done. the consequences of his actions were too brutal for him. Determined to seek redemption for his mistakes he joined hands whit the survivors, in order to eradicate the evil. So it now begins .

Pretty fun once I figured out how to play! In the future something showing where the player can place things might be good because I was confused at first. Overall though pretty cool did die because i didnt have enough mana though

This is a nice idea well suited for the jam theme !
The game would benefits from having some more visuel effects like when units hit eachothers, and some effect to show the summoning area. Alors the game would need to get a bit more balanced, at the third level I think I had an impossible patern (or I'm just bad)

Pretty fun overall. It was a bit unintuitive to control at first but with a bit of post reading it was easy enough to figure out :)

Pretty interesting idea, one thing that would help with game flow is if the level ended a couple of seconds after defeating the last enemy.
I enjoyed playing it, good job on the entry ^^

Good concept, I like the pixel art style, but I think it could have been a bit more zoomed in so you can see them fully - I think some basic animations would also go a long way to improving the feel of the game. The music loop is good and I like the different summons you can do. Good job!

If when you run the game you don't have any cards to play Run the LudumDare55.console.exe file in the Game directory.

It's really funny))) The graphics could have been made more polished, but that also gives it its own Vibe!

Its fun to play, a little bug sometimes, where after I put the cards, another set appear and half cards and UI, letting you put invisible troops but other than that its so cool

Love the idea, really enjoy the cards and the summons. Took a little while to figure out what was happening but after that point it becomes quite fun!

Love autobattlers  Very fun idea to combine them with a card based system.
Would have loved to see more feedback when units are fighting/getting hit. A simple flash shader does wonders

Nice game, somehow it seems to crash when I win a battle. Animations and effects could be improved.
Otherwise the concept is nice and the different units are cool

That is an interesting idea of mixing tower defense and deckbuilding genres, but the game needs more polish. There is no tutorial section and hard to guess that you can summon a monster only on the left side of the screen and only on roads. The usage of the theme is good too. I lost on the 3 wave. Overall, I think you can develop the game further if you want because it has good potential for development.

I like set-and-forget battlers, so I played through a couple rounds. Unfortunately it was very buggy, wasn't visually compelling and was low on satisfaction. Plopping down your various units was the best part, but watching them trundle across the screen and then just push up against enemies didn't deliver. The best graphical elements were the cards, other than that it felt discordant.

But it's still awesome you got playable product out in just a few days, so congratulations!

Hi guys, thanks for all the feedback. Unfortunately we had some major issues in real life, one of the 2 main programmer had to get hospedalized after the first day for health issues, and we faced some sit backs. the last day we had all sorts of bugs and problems whit the game all at once and we had to rush the delivery. we couldn't make in time a lot of small things such as the tutorial, the area where you can place the units, and a whole new set of cards: spells, 2 were already made art wise but we couldn't code them in time, also the balancing is a bit off had to rush it to. in the end we fixed all we could've in the last hour of the game. the projectiles were also made, but not implemented to the mobs. and much more. the only thing we left for last to do were the animation there was no time for those unfortunately. We are still proud that we could deliver the project in time even if it was in it 70%ish of completition for what we had scheduled. Note the guy who had to be hospetalized is now fine don't worry. THANK YOU ALL FOR THE FEEDBACKS <3

Great game. It have some bugs. some of my army just go near enemy army and just do nothing. The wave never ends in that situation. But I like the game idea

Very chill game. Huge fan of card games so this was right up my alley. Sadly it bugged out for me on round 2 where no one was doing any damage. But with some bug fixing this could be a great game :)

I often find myself in a situation where units don't attack anyone for some reason. I also thought that the settings only partially work. And so, the biggest plus of this game is that it's made very heartily :)

First game with metal music, I liked how it set the tone ! Another godot game, cheers my friend we do too! Hope you will work on this one a little bit so you can add some features like sending back to the demon some of the enemies attacks.

Game hardcrashed after a wall of skellies met my coffin skellies. I like the idea of mashing up cards and placing units on the map. I think the graphics for the units were well done, but they were very hard to read against the background tiles. Short audio, but effective for setting the mood!

It was a very cozy experience! Felt like playing an old Warcraft 3 map. Love the music and summon placement sound. Ended up trying to place units in the music rhythm. It was quite fun.

Good basic game. I got stuck few times, as the battles could easily end up in endless stalemate. The sword skeleton did not seem to do any damage. But it is still solid game with large set of features and it is more or less working as intended. With little bit more polish this would have been excellent game.
