You're Punching Fired!!! by Cozary

[raw]
made by Cozary for Ludum Dare 55 (JAM)

You are a boss of a magician company in a magical world! But it seems that more money needs to be made... so fire people!

Fire people according to what Human Resources tells you and you will make more money! But if you fire, or don't fire, the right people, the Work Environment will decline and you will be the fired one!

Can you feed the machine of capitalism or will you be the food? Find out in "You're Punching Fire!!!" MainMenu.png

Bug Fixes v1.1- Fixed a small bug that caused it to not be correctly detected if the person being fired should be fired or not.

I was supposed to fire people, not get fired myself

Really a different looking game in the collection of all the other summon based games. Cool graphics with that shaded look. UI is little bit messed up in the webGL i think. When I am in emails i can click files button but nothing is happening. On pressing Ese the game I thought paused but its frozen. I restarted it again and played more interesting concept, animations are also supporting the game concept very well. But I think little bit of work on how the text is shown would have made much more enjoyable to read the text. ![Screenshot 2024-04-16 162042.png](///raw/867/5/z/6391a.png)

Love the concept, it reminds me of Papers Please. I couldn't progress past day 1 for some reason though, I think I must be missing something. Art style is pretty cool though and the characters are fun and original.

I like the aesthetic of the game, and cool to play, i now seem much of the summon theme, other than the calling people, but the animations and models are so cool. Great work!

Nice game, I had a hard time finding all the alchemists and lost my job though. Glad I'm not working in HR. :grinning:

I let my little 8 year old brother play as I'm letting him play through a bunch of the games in the jam :)
This one's a funny concept!
Wish it would tell you what you got wrong when you lost! Lots of times we ended up getting fired and having no idea why haha

@edj99 There was a small error and it is now fixed so it is possible to get through the first day much more easily.

@cananaman Now that you say it, it would have been nice to add something that shows you when and why you fail.

Fun idea! Really liked the art style. I was a bit confused what to do after I met the quota. Overall good job!

So quirky lol I enjoyed this a lot. Only feedback I had was to make it possible to re-present the to-do list for the day, I forgot what I had to do on day one.
Also wasn't sure; on day 2, I had two emails titled "week 2", the first one seemed to be the same email from week 1. Not sure if that was a bug? If it was supposed to be week 1, I guess I shouldn't have fired people speaking Hindi on the second day since it was just for one week!

Great art style, and the desk punch + getting fired animations were absolutely hilarious. Loved the little detail of my computer clock being synced up to my desk top. It'd be nice to know how many mistakes I have remaining before getting fired. Is it possible to just skip the current week once you've hit the quota? Great submission!!

P.S. Does the guy's hand hurt from slamming his desk so much?

Definitely a cool concept for this theme, gives me papers, please vibes. I liked the impact upon slamming the table lol

I liked the art style and the funny punch/fired animations. Seems like it's mostly up to chance though. I had a quota for 5 wind wizards, but no wind wizards showed up and I was fired. Fun to play and a unique take on the theme. Good job!

Wow, it's like having our own 3D version of 'Papers, Please'! It's truly admirable that the game features procedurally generated characters and was completed in just 72 hours. I think the first day could be slightly shortened, as the subsequent days are more complex and, in my opinion, much more fun! I'm definitely left wanting more—a full game with more detailed 3D characters and additional levels featuring various acts. To me, this project has the potential to evolve into a complete game for platforms. Great game!

I like art and music but the controls seem strange to me. The files were an interesting read, like when a bearded man named Julia shows up who turns out to be the lord of the mountains and I have to fire him for speaking English.
Anyway it's a good game. Good job!
