Fiesta De Las Quimeras! by Jean-Francois
Fiesta de Las Quimeras!
The village summoner summons the chimeras once a year so as not to be bothered for the rest of the year. The Day of the Dead is perfect for this!
Please run it on itch.io on the link below :/ it doesn’t work here yet
Discover a fast-paced, micro-management game where you transmute creatures on a pentagram to unleash their power. With a unique gameplay loop, each summon affects the candle's speed, while the demon at the end offers rewards. The game offers a unique experience inspired by Coco's visual style. Despite some unimplemented features, our focus remains on delivering a polished gaming experience. Dive in and experience the thrill of managing the graveyard fiesta!
Arts are homemade, no IA was used, and we take great interest in showcasing the artists!
Controls
- Click on items at the top to store them on the shelf.
- Click on items on the shelf to use them (food for invocation and candles to gain extra time).
- Click on the creature icon on the tomb to invoke it when the icon is glowing (the formula must be respected: only creatures on the pentagram are taken into account).
- You can pick creatures if they are no longer on the pentagram.
Victory conditions
Maximize the number of transmutation points by creating chimeras to summon a demon! The number of points increases only when the creatures are on the pentagram. Summoning a demon gains a lot of points, but the demon acts according to its own objectives and will explore the world.

@gametrodon I checked again this morning and everything works :/ maybe you forgot to collect the creatures on the pentagram (click and drag and drop on the pentagram), they must be there to be transmuted.
@slavturtle thanks, the music changes when the candle is at less than 50% and yes the game is designed to be fast and a bit stressful :p there are 4 items, one for each basic creature and one for the candle.
@yorsh we know we've got a lot of ideas but we've focused on a fully functional main gameplay loop first, to have a complete little game that's as polished as possible.
@drgcandle thanks a lot :) that's really nice to hear :) and yes it was a lot of work ^^’
I'll review your game, but now it's time to go to work :p Have a nice day or night, depending on your time zone ^^'.

Graphics are nice, it works pretty well.
I just felt like I can basically take almost all I can and it will still be kind of okay for what I'll have to summon.
Arts is really cool you did a great job !
I like the fact that the little souls are moving around on the ground in perspective.
Cheers :)
@emty thanks :) indeed, the days were very tiring but we're pleased with the results (we have a lot of unimplemented ideas :/)
@eklbirifine haha thanks, yes Sonic was a placeholder ^^' ok I hope this little problem was quickly replaced by fun :3
@falien thanks :)
@kirass thanks :)
@gnum thanks :)
@satolas thanks :) in fact the number of summoned creatures affects the speed factor of the candle (and only the number not the type). And at the end, the demon gives 1000points and acts as a candle item.
I’ll review your game, but now it’s time to go to work :p Have a nice day or night, depending on your time zone ^^’.

The concept is also really fresh and very well executed, a nice spin on the match game formula.
The materials bar was my only point of frustration, as the hit boxes for the items are infuriating and when you click it seems to clear everything, so mistakes are extremely punishing. Suggestion would be to make each hit box just be the entire slot. Congrats on a sick game!
Works well with Firefox!
It was pretty fun and could become somewhat crowded, if you didn't receive the right combinations in time. But dragging those strollers back to their place had its charm. Great work :smile:
As for the game, I loved the presentation! This is one of the most unique looking LD games I've played in a while.
I did find one major issue though, the tutorial doesnt explain how to summon chimeras and demons. It left out the part where you have to click on the tombstone. I tried to spawn things by spamming animal spirits until they all lit up but that didnt work. I then tried filling the circle with only the exact number of animals needed but that didnt work either. It was only when I read the itch.io page that i saw you had to click the tombstone lol.
Maybe thats on me, but I think the tutorial should have been more specific.
Once I figured it out the game became a lot more engaging. I didn't really like the offerings system though. The randomness was kind of unsatisfying and I felt like i was just sitting around waiting for the right items. I also think you should have some kind of limit on the number of spirits you can have summoned at a time because without it you can just keep spamming summons until there happens to be the appropriate number of animals on the circle for a chimera. I felt limited only by the speed at which the offerings get randomized.
Overall though, a cool unique experience and very polished for an LD game
@pabloabraham thanks :) I glad that you like it
@derllie thanks :)
@troggzor56 thanks :) ho ok I'm sorry :/
@ru-mey thanks :)
@sampai I glad that you like it
@aracana thanks, the game was designed to be fast and a bit stressful :p maybe too much ^^'.
@smidgens thanks :)
@labcatgames ho ok thanks for your comments, I'm not sure I understand your point exactly but I'll figure it out. I checked the hitbox and indeed some are smaller than the item. You're right, the hitbox can be the same for each item and correspond to the slot :/
@iwant-pizza sorry for that :/, I need more details: the game must be run on a Chrome-derived browser like Chrome, Chromium, Edge, Brave… also works on Safari (but can be closed suddenly due to excessive memory usage). Not tested on Firefox or other web browser. The game works on some smartphone browsers but the game is not designed for, if it works, don’t forget to disable the tutorial :/ (impossible to press enter ^^’)
@makse I glad you like it :)
@lectvs glad to hear it :) yes I understand that the first try can be complicated ^^'
@lehmy haha yes indeed, I'm glad you like it
@skleembof ho ok the tutorial must be more specific sorry for that :/ In fact there is no limit of invocation but, the speed factor of the candle is related to the number of invocations (and only the number). The balance of the game can be improved indeed :) I'm glad you like it finally :)
I’ll review your game, but now it’s time to go to sleep :p Have a nice day or night, depending on your time zone ^^’.

Art and sounds are cool, it also had no technical problems. So, yeah, nice game!
@p-r Thanks, yes, the game is more complicated than it seems. :P
@lelek-hunor-kadosa Thanks. :)
@avi I'm very glad to hear that. Thank you!
@rubikon Thanks. :)
@josang1567 Thanks. :)
@algis-khasanov The creature must be on the pentagram to be transmuted and to obtain points (it is explained in the tutorial).
@nicekot Thank you. Yes, that was the idea in this game: a lot of micro gestion, a little bit stressful, and fast gameplay.
@thegreatcarpet I understand. Even if there is a tutorial, this is the kind of game that you need to play once to catch the idea. Parties are not so long, so it's okay, I guess. :P
I’ll review your game, but now it’s time to go to work :p Have a nice day or night, depending on your time zone ^^’.

Good job!
@nikiprotiv thanks nice score! we give a lot of interest to highlight the artists :)
@vphyre thanks :) we have a lot of idea not implemented ^^'
Have a nice day or night, depending on your time zone ^^’.

@lamp-p yep we have lots of ideas, but we focus on a small number of well implemented features rather than a large number of bugs :p
@eric-nguyen ahah thank you :)
I’ll review your game later. Have a nice day or night, depending on your time zone ^^’.

BOOONNNG........... Uh! Aaaaaaah! Thank you for resurrecting me with your invocation and your comment on our game!
Mmmm..... I'm missing my nose (thankfully not my ears!).... I think it comes from the incantation of "A5's deep chord". (I'm self-taught, no notion of music theory as I'm allergic to that).
As far as the sound is concerned, I used mostly a symphony orchestra vst. What you liked was a marimba... I would have been wrong too ;)
I tried to recall the musical style of the country of origin with what I had. For the title screen theme, the guitar is a vst, and I simulated a kind of Mexican flute or ocarina recorded by blowing into a beer bottle :)
I play sound eggs on this one, and on the current game track it's my hands that rub and clap clap.
Apart from the wind (vst), all the sound effects were done by mouth and whatever I had on hand. I really enjoyed myself!
Thanks for checking out my work and commenting on our project, my day is better too!
What did happen to me was that I didn't really have to look at the combinations, by grabbing many items at once and summoning them I could spawn several creatures without having to follow the guide.
The art is beautiful and the idea is great. Good job guys!

@jamesw thank you :) We tried to keep a small set of feature well implemented
@naplz98 thanks ^^ it's a fiesta in the graveyard :p
 +  +  =
I like the challenge. I think that it's little unfair that game is basically based mainly on the speed of clicking. I would like more a game where I need to think more and value more the resources. But of course this is just my personal preference. Thank you for the game! :)
