The goal is to get your pieces to the other player's goal line.

You can only place pieces on your goal line, they move forward automatically.

If their path is blocked, they stop.

If there's a piece adjacent, both lose a life. (like a kinda enpasse rule)

Each piece has 3 lives.

If a piece makes it to the goal line, the player and the piece lose a life.

Each player has 10 lives.

2 player vs game. (worth loading it up to check out how it works if you're only 1 player)

I really want to continue on with this. I noticed a game breaking bug that happens sometimes, that's a priority. I think an AI opponent would be class, and network multiplayer would really suit it well.

Hope ya'll had fun making games. I'm ready to sleep. Love these Jams, I've been away from them for too long :) Looking forward to chilling out playing some games tomorrow. Night!

It's an interesting chess-like, and I really like the visuals. Played a little bit against myself to get an idea of how it works, but I feel like it may be pretty easy to get in to a stalemate.

I agree, a stale mate is deffo possible. I'm thinking some sort of mechanic could sort it out, worth a try.

How to download the game to play.

It actually looks like a good game.

Too bad it was two player only

@beebster-games there's an exe download there. (~~)The embed WebGL should work, ill try get it to work.(~~) WebGl works now. Yeah I was happy to leave it a 2 player game, didn't have time to make AI.

Tried a couple of rounds on my own to get a hang of the rules but I'm gonna give it a shot with some mates at the weekend. Love the vibe!

Played with my partner, we liked the concept. There is certainly interesting strategy to explore here! Visually it was well unified and had good atmosphere. The summoning theme felt a little thin, but I do like that it's not so on the nose. I'm kind of over pentagrams and rituals lol. Congrats on producing an interesting game!

I saw you mention working on a CPU enemy, and I would second that as the main priority.

This was a fun game. As others said, it's similar to chess which is cool!

It was exciting to find a 2-player game! Using same mouse felt kinda unconventional, so switching it to work with wasd/arrows would be cool. A nice little strategy game, even tho I lost :(

@minjutin I agree, a wasd/dpad control would suit it well. I'm really looking forward to making more of it!

@labcatgames I've been scribbling some ideas for a CPU. I think I need to get a sparring partner to find out exactly how the plays. Might be able to pay someone in beer to properly play a load of rounds.

The style really holds up the game, its quite simple after a round of figuring things out.

No way. Chess for summoners. Pretty simple game. I wish I had a partner for this game. Okay. Good luck with your future projects!

Gameplay look fresh and innovative (I've never seen such mechanics before). I wish I could play it with someone over the network.

cool concept, it's a pity that it requires 2 players ;-;. But i'm sure it will be fun playing with friends

I enjoyed the gameplay, it has the charm of a classic board game.
I also had to skip on implementing ai, I choose to make it a part of the game design, the player has to performs three actions on behalf of the AI and only two for themselves.
I believe this adds a strategic layer, as it forces the player to consider not only the best moves for themselves but also the worst possible moves for the AI. maybe this approach can help you in a future jam

Good job! I think you made an interesting gameplay with deep dynamics from really simple mechanics! That's really hard to do this usually! The art is also wonderfull.
So, I think you got really good experience on this jam. And thank you for your game!

The game is good, with great sfx and gameplay. Side note: If you click too fast there will be some bugs and display delay. The game requires high level strategy and I enjoy it.
