I heard that there would be a rivaling tower defence game so I had to check it out :eyes: This was so much fun tho! Combining tower defence elements with first-person shooting is a great idea, I really enjoyed both shooting enemies and trying to figure out where to build my towers. I don't usually enjoy tower defence genre at all, but I could definitely play this one for a while (and with some updates && deeper gameplay, even longer). Also, I love the monsters!

Liked the ornate tile work and the staff. The reload was long enough I would have liked a reloading sound effect or visual indicator. Cool concept!

I'd love to see something similar in VR

@alezjl That is a great idea! That's definitively something we should do

I liked the concept. I think the balancing of the numbers felt rough, there's a point where no matter what I do I feel like there's just not enough money to upgrade my defense.

Not sure if this was intended, but when you restart a game you keep the existing towers. That actually made the game more fun for me, because I could build on my existing infrastructure with the early wave money. Let me last longer.

I had fun playing. Thanks for the game!

@joshanthony1990 Unintentional feature, but considering our balancing is weighted towards the more difficult side, let's called it planned ;-)

really cool tower defense, would have been cool to have various tower.
My pc had a little bit of a hard time to run it (so maybe some optimisation).

Great entry guys

Ok ya got me, I love these types of games. This game is easily the most fun that I've played so far, and definitely the one I spent the most time playing!

The only real notes I can think of are adding some music and a visual for the current wave number + how many waves you survived after you lose. Other than that, I'd love to see more variation (enemies, towers, weapon upgrades, etc).

Great work!

@alexis-brochec We planned to have different towers, but we ran out of time. It's our second 3D game and my first. I'll most likely look into optimizing more for 3D games our next game jam.

@doc-ill Great to hear that you like our game! We have a wave counter, but it only shows up in the wave start counter. Might have been good to have it as a permanent UI element. We planned to have a current run and best run leaderboard at the game over screen, but I think we forgot to add it at the end.

Thanks for playing!

We're actually saving the personal leaderboard data, but didn't get time to add it XD

Very neat, a first person tower defense game was a good idea. Very satisfying to run around and place towers down. I did notice there was a bug where the enemies left counter thought there was 1 less enemy than there actually was, and it would actually start the countdown to the next round with an enemy still alive. I felt a little rushed in between rounds, it would have been nice if in between the rounds it gave you as much time as you wanted and then you did something to start the next round.

neat game, fps tower defense is very fun. It would have benefitted a lot from faster paced gameplay imo, quicker reload and attack speed, more and faster enemies etc. but yeah really good still

Cool game. Reminds me of Dungeon Defenders, loved that game. Would be cool if you could upgrade your weapon too and choose your playstyle. I have the same bug as others where my towers stay in the game after restarting. In addition to that, buying another tower now costs me 64k. There is definitely something wrong with restarting the game :D

And edit: Can you win this game? Or are you just bound to fail at some point?

I like combination of shooting and tower defence! I spent some time to play it and built almost all towers. Great job!

Combining an FPS game with tower defense is great! I love tower defense games and maybe it would be great if this game will be available in VR. The game is nice, but it can be improved (eg: the way to the crystal is too long for me, and if you can skip cooldwn that would be nice)!

Caught the game on stream and played it a bit myself. Immediately understood what the talk about crosshair was. It would really be helpful ^^' First shot usually goes on figuring out where it is, so to say. I like how open the world feels, and the style of portal and enemies and the stuff is cool. Maybe it could be a little bit dynamic closer to beginning? As when the 1st wave started I spent a few seconds like "hmm enemies? where?"
But overall it was chill and fun :)

An interesting idea with a first-person view and good realization! But the game requires balance, towers are expensive the enemies are moving too slowly and they have too much HP, there is not enough dynamics)
