God's Apprentice by Kimday

Hi, we are glad to present God's Apprentice. We are a french team of beginners and we hope you will like it !

Concept :
In this puzzle / reflexion game, you play as the apprentice of god and you try to summon various creatures / elements to succeed in all the tasks you have !
Within the time limitation we made 3 levels with multiple objectives to reach.
Try to complete them all :earth_americas:
All the graphical assets are custom made (even the font !)
All the musical assets are under free license (and not made by us).

All the stories were quite simple except one ;) I won't spoil it, but it was doable with some trial and error. Had fun! Thanks for the game!
@naplz98 Thanks! Happy that you had fun with our game :)
@metagen Thank you so much!
@colinweiss Thank you for your enthusiasm!! Really happy that you liked it! Bringing fun is definitely one of our objective!
@benjaminw Thank you! Time was challenging but we would love to have more levels as well!
Same as Deloriand, can't seem to understand the "cutest takes it all" but otherwise objectives are clear.
Only bad point is...I want more levels !
Overall I love it ^_^
Great Job!
The graphics are nice and consistent, and the puzzles are pretty cool.
Notes:
- Some of the interactions are not very obvious, so towards the end I felt more like I'm just guessing at random instead of trying to figure out the puzzle.
- Would be good if the objectives were visible inside the level as well.
- Would be cool if all interactions had some meaningful result, but that's probably too big for a jam game. (Storyteller does this with an actual simulation system, not hardcoding.)
Technical note: the graphics don't scale very well outside what was probably the intended resolution. Here's how the game looks on a 4K screen (scaled down):

@sstyles93 Thank you for your kind words. Sorry if the last objective was a bit unclear (the aim is to make cats leave the planet)
@dekara Thanks for playing our little game.
@corgiz Thank you.
@meru We are glad you enjoyed our game.
@bittripbrit Thank you. We would also have loved to put more levels in, but we were too short on time...
I agree that interactions are not always obvious and may sometimes seem random. We were short on time but we really wanted a 3rd level.
Sorry for the resolution inconvenience, we are Godot beginner. I hope it was not too much of a problem for you.
@namnam Thank you very much. It was absolutely one of our inspirations.
@saintchristopher777 Thanks. I agree with you, our two artists nailed it.
@ben-toosey You went for the 100% ! Thank you so much. Glad you loved the game.
@monogatari Thanks. Storyteller was for sure one of our inspirations for this.
@josemwarrior I do not know this game, I'll have to check it out.
@0x-void-x0 Many kind words for our game, we appreciate it a lot.
@shlolo Definitely something we would have added with more time. Thank you for playing.
Merci encore.
@sven-walter Thank you for playing our game. Our two artists are very talented, they nailed it.
@zombiewalrus It was one of our inspirations. Thanks.
Nice work!
A little more feedback when you spawned something would have been nice, as it wasn't clear to me at first that the cat was eating the rat, or the rat scared off(?) the humans. But that is only a minor gripe. I enjoyed it none the less. Good stuff :8ball:
Overall it's a cool concept, would love to see it expanded!
Glad to see the Summoning interpreted in a different way!
@collopi Thank you so much! Happy that you had fun trying out all the successes!
@she-wrote Thank you!
@kirass Thanks!!
@chiara-sanviti Thank you! Happy that you liked it!
@gnum Thank you for your sypport!
@yoruvii Thank a lot for your feedback! Happy that you liked it even if it misses a few more levels :)
@albatross Thank you so much!
@merb1000 Thanks for your feedback! Totally agree with you, we were lacking time, but it would definitely need more guidance about what's happening when you combine elements, like for example when you put humans & rats together, humans disappear because they got sick (we have a lot of lore that we didn't had the time to implement in the game)
@olddog Thank you so much for your feedback!
@lestat Thanks!
@fenix131113 Thank you so much! It's the best compliment!!
@oddballdave Thank you for your feedback! Definitely missing a little animation or explanation each time something happens (like for the meteor)!
@nick-blackwood Thank you so much! A little tip: the cat needs to be smart in order to use the rocket :)
@firellon Thank you! We tried to play as much as possible with the theme!
@gabriel-bissonnette Thank you so much! Happy that you enjoyed it! :)
@dogshroom Thank you!
@hammerer Thanks! Well done for finding all the endings!
@nsadie Thank you! Definitely, it would be awesome if we had time to add a few more levels but that's the challenge! We learned a lot during this Gamejam, specially on time management :)
@rob6566 Thank you so much!
Great job on the game and congrats on finishing your first jam! Long live the Dinos :grin:

Fun to play, congrats for this cool game! :wink:
@flying-butter-studio Thanks a lot!
Some things which might be worth considering:
- More significant 'objective' outcomes rather just combination of things which are there (like in cats vs zombie make a science cat attaching zombies, not just standing by default)
- Some progression - like additional components after achieving some goals
- More predictable hits / outcomes especially for main ones (I didn't beat 'Cutest takes it all' because it's just not clear what's actually expected)
Overall I think it has a potential and I like the style & mood of the entry! :smile:
