Your Friendly Neighborhood Monster by Shugor

[raw]
made by Shugor for LD33 (JAM)
--Ludum Dare 33 Jam Entry: Your Friendly Neighborhood Monster--

So i kinda spent most of the weekend making the engine and art work properly and forgot about the ACTUAL game content;;
But that's not a big problem. I like what we made even if its only really a few minutes long and is completely linear. Hopefully I get around to doing a postjam version.
The only real button is Z, to advance text.
I hope you enjoy what we got!

While there is sadly no game content, the art style, story and mood of it all do partially make up for that. It has some good potential and I would love to see it continued...

Nice story, the art was great, and it was really slick to play through. Good luck if you do more!

Nice little graphic novel, the art is beautiful. Also the switching from the environment to the close-up of Lola is a good trick.

We've got a text based story game too! Alhough that's not very cute...

I hate clifhangers...
But the graphics and writing are awesome. Include some actual gameplay and it would definitely be worth a post-jam version.

The story was interesting (the writing style appealed to me despite the large amount of typos and other errors), but it was blatantly unfinished. As is, you can barely call it a story because we pretty much only get the protagonist introduction and then it ends already.

I liked the art. The protagonist's speech sound was too high-pitched and sharp and was unpleasant to listen to; the rest of the sound was okay. The take on the theme is rather straightforward, but at least a proper straightforward interpretation is better than a failed twist on the theme.
