Card game rules

the "I didn't find the library"/"I don't like riddles" -edition: - Cards have two main stats: hitpoints and damage (displayed on the card as "H" and "D") - There are three "lanes". Cards in play will only attack cards on their lane (the card in front of them) - If a card has no opponent on their lane, it will target the summoner - A round is resolved lane-by-lane from left to right. On each lane, cards' elements determines which side attacks first. - Elements fastest to slowest: fire > ground > water > air

Changelog

  • v2: added missing boss dialogue / card decks
  • v3: Paju no longer freezes in awe after successfully defeating a god
  • v4: Losing a battle against a god no longer forces you to re-match. You can no longer get out of bounds in the library. Library music now loops instead of abruptly stopping.

Known issues

  • Hover effect for cards in hand is a bit wonky

Solid game with cute graphics and fun mechanics. I did run into some bugs when leaving buildings like the library, I missed the exit trigger and could wander around in blackness. Besides that the game runs well and I enjoy playing it :)

Hey, nice game you got there. The Graphics and Sound were really cool. I liked the intro and the summoning very much. The Battle whatsoever was not really my cup of tea. It was to long and slow. Also I did not felt the need for a real strategy, If you just had enough cards it basically did not matter.
Nevertheless. Cool Entry.

Nice 16bit looking graphics. You guys have setup your ludum dare page really well. Pokémon like vive in movement controls but the camera is jittering when panning. For two steps its smooth then for next two steps its jittery and the pattern continues. Card game is like dual masters my favorite. On the jungle path finding is hard in between trees. Some gaps in trees look walkable but its not. For the card as my all cards at start are same stats no choice matters i am just filling the lanes. A mix of cards would have been nice.

Took me a moment to figure out the battle mechanics, but this is a fun game!

I like the style of this game! Visual remembered me old time playing pokemon at the first time, but the gameplay gave me completely brand-new feeling! Good work! =)

Grandpa laying in bed acting like he's about to drop the hottest diss track. lol
I like whisk-Ink too, though. RIP Grandpa Joe!

This really is a great game. I hope you continue to expand this and mitigate that boss concern. I managed to defeat three of them, but that grass bro was brutal. I found myself playing this longer than expected so you guys did a great job at keeping the player's attention.

After getting the mechanics solid, the game was very fun. Though on my own fault, I forgot how initiative was calculated! Which I shall call this "Kevvy's Folly". It is what attributed to my demise at Grass bro.

The game looks fantastic! The audio was a bit quiet for me, but it sounded good all the same. The only real issue I had was wanting to push through the game faster due to how slow combat resolved. I needed to wait a few rounds every time the opponent ran out of cards and instead I pushed past where I probably should've been and got into fights I had no business being in.
I think I'd enjoy it more if there was a deck limit and a way of culling "bad" scrolls as well. Every combat ended when one player ran out of scrolls, so I feel like there could be room for improvement there as well.

Art and music are gorgeous! Dialogues made me smile quite a few times. As a proud cat owner I can testify that it's a very accurate cat protagonist representation.
My only wish is for combat to be faster. (And maybe for scrolls to have some distinct abilities.)

I really like the pixelart and I played it on my M2 Macbook, so the Build for Mac works fine :) Good job!
