Shadows Of My Foreman Self by Skyeward

[raw]
made by Skyeward for Ludum Dare 55 (JAM)

Hey bucko, wanna make some cash?

Listen, you might be a novice wizard, but I've got an opportunity for you in this factory I recently inherited. With your summoning prowess, and my access to capital, I see some real gold pieces in our future.

Here's the deal, you run the factory. Man the production line. Make rings. Enchanted, not enchanted, makes no difference to me. I'll take all the real work off your hands - social media marketing and all that.

Oh, last thing. If you get lonely down there, I've left my dad's old spellbook in the corner. Take a look, there's pictures and everything!

Anyway, I gotta go take an ice plunge and listen to a podcast about baking sourdough bread. No rest for the wicked.

I'll check in at the end of the day. We do have standards.

Point and click, 16:9 recommended.

Known issues:

Workers occasionally disappear from the production line.

Quota to hit for the day is occasionally wrong.

The tutorial at the start of day 2 is very easy to accidentally skip!

I think I got softlocked by a bug, but overall this is a very good game! Love the graphics, the concept, and the gameplay!

I couldn't really figure out what the workers were doing exactly, but I was having fun and it was pretty impressive that you got five full minigames and all those graphical assets in there. Well done :)

Nice variety of minigames and they are all pretty fun. My favorite is definitely refining the gems out of the geodes. I think the time limits maybe were a little harsh, and it's a bit of let down when the timer ends in the middle of a task, it might be nice to let the player finish on their last piece on some of the stations. I didn't quite get how the workers affected anything or maybe I was hitting a bug. I also got in a situation where I couldn't complete a day because none of the stations were responding to my selection. I really love the concepts here!

I never really got my factory up and running, but I LOVED flickin' those gems around! It also looks and sounds REALLY good! A lot of interesting ideas definitely, and I understand how hard it must be to bring them all together in a cohesive whole. I think there's great potential here, but just needs additional tuning and tutorialization. Great job on this though, team!

Really innovative awesome game idea. Unfortunately I ran into some bugs so I couldn't interact with any of the games after a certain point. That plus some balance issues keep it from being great, but otherwise the level of polish and innovation are quite impressive!

Really cool game! Unforunately like some other people, I encountered a bug that stopped me from interacting with the stations on day 3, but overall it was quite fun!

Nice! A few of the games felt a bit too finicky (e.g. very small hitboxes on the rocks in the first one, too easy to overshoot in the second one with not enough visual information) or unfair (second one I would lose a few rolling off the table before I started, and it was hard to actually grab the rings and gems on the last one) or undertutorialized (I was tracing the shapes on the gems, not on the guide, at first) but in general they all felt good and polished. On day two, I had a guy assigned to a task but I still ended up having to do the task myself and I don't know what I needed to do differently.

The sound design is very good and satisfying. Good job with that. The graphics are also great and it all feels like a moody day working at the moody mine, so good work with all of that.
