However, the game is held back a bit by some bugs (which leads to some balancing issues). Some of the upgrades don't work properly (I've tested the click upgrades specifically, and they don't stack like you'd expect). This ends up stunting your blood collection significantly, since the only other thing that collects blood automatically is swords. Otherwise you're just left to click for 2 a pop due to the aforementioned bug, which isn't great. Also, some of the UI numbers don't update correctly (such as unit costs)
Otherwise it's pretty fun
I was caught up by time, I didn't have time to work on the improvements and I couldn't test most of the upgrades...
I'm going to try to improve this by fixing the bugs and tweaking the improvements a little.
I don't have too much experience with clickers - is there a fail state in this one? I didn't really know when I made "good" or "bad" decisions and mainly bought random stuff, some more feedback to help on this might be good.
Some simple music and sound effects would go a long way to help make it more fun I think - e.g. some feedback sound each time you click on something etc.!
Some kind of a brief tutorial or explanation on how things work would have been nice, especially the chickens, runes and chaos - I figured it all out eventually, but I was a bit confused at first. Would have also been nice if the summoned things appeared visually in some way, somewhere, even as a simple tally. The game would also have benefited greatly from even a simple background music track!
Mechanically the game is sound, and the player interacting with both the heart's collection rate and the progress of upgrades (while catching chicken cultists) was a nice, engaging addition, and the rising runes were a very satisfying visual que. It was also an interesting sub-game in itself to balance between more chaos pumping blood into the heart and swords extracting it, so as to not waste influx of chaos or the efficiency of the swords! The visuals and theme instantly drew me in, and kept me engaged.
Love the contrast between the eerie beating heart and your goofy little chicken cultists. The animations and vfx are also very cool. Some audio would have further reinforced the atmosphere, too bad it's missing. Also would have loved an endgame or objective other than getting all upgrades, but most clicker games are that way haha.
Well done!
I bought all upgrades, got lots of summoners, blood flows faster than my swords can drain it and I have no idea what unholy thing will happen next...
I really liked there is two currencies in this game (blood and chanting), it perfectly fits the theme :)
a charming little clickers games, good jobs !

Chicken games enjoyer I see you brother
