Defend the kingdom by martonel

[raw]
made by martonel for Ludum Dare 55 (COMPO)

I made this game for the Ludum Dare 55 Compo.

In the game you need to protect the villages and the castle from the Demon.

You have 5 posions, and you need to choose 2, what you mix. The mixture will decide, what you summon against the demon.

You have 10 summons, but only one summon will be defeat the demon.

If you loose the villages, and do not defeat the demon in front of the castle, you will lose.

I use unity to make the game. For the animations and images I use Krita and Blender.

For the music I use sfxr and AVIA AI. And for the village images I tried to use stable diffusion AI, but I realized the AI is not perfect for game making right now, so I swithed to hand drawings.

I really enjoyed the whole process of game making, I hope you will like it.

Sorry the Kingdom burned boss! I tried everything! An ant! A dog! A cardboard box! A duck! This demon just can't be beat!

LOL. I really like your style. Does the formula change each time? I managed to win once, but I didn't remember the formula I used.

I liked the music and visuals. The gameplay simple and pretty fun, but maybe it would have been more fun if there was a way to know what the right mix was. But overall a fine little jam game.

Kudos and + point in graphics for the effort of doing the winning summon animation. I also love those, and your choice of the winning summon form is perfectly understandable

Your drawings were nice! Cool animations :)
The core idea is interesting, but would have been fun with more puzzle and not just completely random. Some way to figure out the right mixture and not just trial and error.

Nice little game. I defeated the demon on the first try. Even if the house-sized ant is damn scary, too xD

yeah i save the kingdom, it would be cool if we had clues to choose the right potions rather than chance

Pretty fun game and liked the summons a lot, not sure if I was supposed to get some clue about the summons or just luck in to the correct one but managed it on the third playtrough. The animations was a nice touch with the zoom-in for every summon but since it took me over 10 tries to kill him (I wasn't tracking wich spells I tried for a while) it got a bit repetative and wanted to click them trough.

I love all the details in the graphics, all the different shots and angles and cuts! It would have been fun if the demon needed a different potion each time, but with 120 combinations, you'd need some feedback to say that one of the potions you used was effective or something...

I liked the dynamic camerawork for the cutscenes. I somehow managed to get the right combo first try.

Short and sweet, this was a fun entry, I liked the different summons and it was funny seeing the final cutscene when you get the right summon. Not much else to say, it's really simple but works for what it is. Good job on this!
