Super Monster Fighter 1 by TomOlivier

[raw]
made by TomOlivier for LD33 (JAM)
What happens when a city is being attacked by 4 monsters?
Take the control of the city by destroying buildings, collecting power-ups and crushing your ennemies. But remember, only one monster could make it.

Can be playable in local mode up to 4 people (with pads/keyboards). Also we have a basic AI (that can beat you, don't you dare!).

-- README --
On the player screen, start by toggling players / AIs ON as shown in the screenshot number 2 before selecting your player. Otherwise, you'll only have a black screen.

-- Controls --

Keyboard:
Arrow to move
Space to hit

Pads:
Joystick to move
A to hit

Have fun :)

I dared to fight the AI! And lost...
BUT I redeemed myself and beat it twice in a row!
You made a fun game; too bad I didn't have someone else to play with in the local mode. The announcer shouting out "TOM!" was so great that I just had to play as him. Great job overall.

I am not going to vote for this one.
When I the game play starts the screen goes black.
I don't know what happened. Sorry I can't rate.

@tGiant - You should select a character first (see screenshot 2) :)

Cool game, I think it could've helped to have a varying colour palette since the monsters kinda blend into the background, since everything is a bit green.

I don´t know how to describe it... it´s like in this game the mechanics are as wilhelm as the screams :D

Nice ui.
The gameplay is too simple. With a special attack by character, this game would be so much better. Sadly but the Gozilla fight style was a great idea!

Great level generation and UI. I beat the bot a few times, but I notice if I keep player after several times, the screen is black but I can still see the UI and hear sounds.

But anyhow, fun fighter.

It took me several games to beat the AI. Nice game :). I also had the black screen on restarting a game. I had to refresh the page to be able to play more than once.

Ah! This is great! It has loads of potential for an amazing 4 player game. It feels like a perfect mini game for something like Mario Party. Cool music too!

Awesome job!

Was very fun! Got a little bit repetitive, maybe different scenery would have helped. God job though :)

I tried to play with two players, but we couldnt both use a keyboard. The game itself is really nicely made! I included it in part 16 of my Ludum Dare 33 Compilation video series, if you would like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/aXZw1Jpw2JA

Liked it! Really nice menu UI & music, though in-game sound got a little annoying and the terrain could do with more details.
