In Crafted Calamities you summon unholy creatures, harvest their hearts and obtain immortality!

im3.PNG

What monstrosity awaits you? Thats for you to decide! Pick and choose different bodyparts and craft abominations straight from hell.

im4.PNG

If you can defeat it, you can harvest its heart to become stronger yourself, eventually reaching the grand goal: Immortality!

Be careful though! Once you die, it is all over for you and the demon will drag your cultists soul back to hell where it belongs!

Unfortunately since exporting for web with Godot4 requires SharedArraySupport, we could not upload the web build here. Instead you can find the game on Itch.io (https://thelordofmuesli.itch.io/curse-of-summoning) or download it (which also comes with better graphics :D)

I like it! Art style is cool and that start music is good and little lore is neat and I like the idea of choosing boss attacks, player can pick most personally fun. Also, eyes attack is fun, you need to always run

Cool game! Who doesn't like a good bullet hell?
I really liked the 3D pixel graphics. Nice merge of oldschool art and modern fluent and free movement.
The music also fits very well and the summoning animation, while simple, looks really cool.
Also good choice in making the abilities stand out with the black and white style.

Sadly I had a bit of a technical issue when playing in web. I dont have the largest monitor and for some reason I couldnt [F11] to get my game to go to fullscreen, so parts of the game screen were missing (tested it, F11 does work on other tabs in my browser).
That paired with the fact that you need to click the enemy to actually shoot, was a bit annoying. Shame, because I think you did a great job and would have loved to play as it was intended.

I didn't really need the dash ability, but maybe that's because I only got up to like 5-6 kills. That's not a bad thing though!! It just shows the good responsiveness and balanced speed setting of the players movement! Moving around and dodging felt natural and when I got hit I knew it was because *I* failed, not the game.

A second ability would have been cool. Maybe right click for a channeling shot that does more dmg and that you get after making your first summon that used all outer nodes of the pentagram or something. Would be a good contrast to the auto-aim base ability and would add some risk.

Overall, cool concept and good execution!! :)

Very interesting idea to use demon body parts for summoning rituals, and the graphics are great too! I hope to be able to summon different demons depending on the material!

I love how the bosses get increasingly harder when you put more items into their summon. The change in attacks per boss really makes it interesting to play. Nice concept and great execution!

Loved the game! The fact that you can craft your own challenge and it scales with your progress is amazing!!! Would love to see different boss models according to what parts you put in! Hopefully you'll finish the game into a full release ;)

I liked the concept of choosing the abilities of your opponent. The player's attack felt a bit weird to me though, lacking feedback and motivation of why I had to perform it manually. I've probably missed something and basically just spammed left mouse button the entire time while trying to dodge the boss. Still, I enjoyed the challenge, even though I failed to beat the last two stages.

My first 5/5 of the Jam, amazing graphics, cool unique mechanic, great music, cool replayability, theme integration. Amazing work, really. The pixel effect over 3D art worked great, being able to """"craft"""" my perfect boss was fun and when I summoned one with all slots filled, I died in like 5 secs haha, expected

Amazing visuals. It looks so nice. The game itself is a lot of fun as well. I liked the idea of using body parts to complete the summuning ritual. You could take this idea of "crafting" your own boss even furter in the future by customizing the appearance and abilities of the boss based on each body part.
All in all it's a great submission!

@shlolo @zablas @gamenogg the boss model does actually change depending on what active abilities you choose and how many you put in, but I guess the change is not that noticable :)

The only thing I missed is the range of attack. Sometimes I didn't get why I can not shot. But all others things are really good! Music, sfx, graphics and mechanis are really cool!

Very very great game. Building your own boss to fight is such a cool idea.
Some elements are clearly easier to deal with than others but in the end, you get the "hell" of "bullet hell".
Very cool entry !

It looks very good and promising, but unfortunately, the web format freezes very quickly for me.

This was great! I love to see another game with the same idea of building and summoning a boss and what you did with that idea :D

@fredrik-andersson I saw your game earlier and i looks really fun. Haven't had a chance to play it myself but it's really cool seeing the same idea used in different ways.

It’s a game with cool graphics, and the ritual of summoning demons always makes people feel curious and crazy, especially your BGM, which is full of mystery. Well done!

Very cool idea, I really like the "craft your own boss" aspect! It's lacking some balancing and feedback, though.
Many times I took damage where I though I had enough distance from the attack, and the lack of visual feedback when taking damage really makes things harder to follow.
I also couldn't really win the game, even though I got all hearts?
Aside from that, I really enjoyed it.

@macibacsi56 Damn :/ Pretty sure that is an omtimization problem. For us the game froze like 2 seconds when summoning a boss, but for some reason on some pcs 20+ seconds :/ Afterwards the game should run fine though

@deive-ex Thanks for the good feedback. Yes the hitboxes are a little bit big and we did not have time to properly polish the ux, so feedback is overall lacking. The game currently ends, the round after you get full hearts, which might also be a little bit unintuitive

I had immense fun! Picking bosses' abilities is an interesting idea. I also absolutely love pixelated shader! Feels like a good old PS2 game. Had to download the windows version though since web one just froze my browser page.

Encountered a browser hang-up issue, but it just needed a bit of waiting. Seems like resources were loading or something similar. I really liked the idea of gathering skills for the next boss yourself, using scary body parts. Good job, it would be interesting to see the development of the idea in the future.

One of the prettiest game's I've seen so far and I would've liked to see more! Sadly my game completely crashed when I tried to summon the first boss and I also had some freezes during dashing, but that fixed itself after some time.

Super cool game! The graphics and models are amazing, it's well balanced and the core idea of building your monster has great potential :)

Enjoyed dodging the bullet hell, especially the eyes compared with the big pentagram, that really necessitated the use of the dash. Great job!

Had fun playing this one! Placing five eyes on the summoning circle really gives you the unforgettable experience... In a good way! Thanks for the cool game, keep up the good work!

Very satisfying game! Visual is so good. Maybe I want to hear more deep sounds for expensive atmosphere. Good job, developers!

The first game I met who took similar approach as our entry! Summoning creatures whose characteristics are based on what you place on a circle is indeed very interesting and fun to play! Although our game took more simpler approach based on primitive stats like HP and ATK values. Very good one and it has so much potential! Didn't noticed at first what each item does. Also I suppose position of item doesn't matter for summoned monster? Would be great to see some bonus slots or something each time you summon.

3D pixel art game is great also! Thanks for your hard work!

Really fun concept and take on a bullet hell game! Graphics are gorgeous as well and the music makes you excited!

The only thing I really miss is better feedback when you are hurt and when you hurt the boss, since sometimes I just happened to notice I'd lost a couple of hearts but thought I had avoided all the attacks.

Otherwise, really fun an great game, with good balance to the mechanics.
Great work!

Nice pixel art, well-balanced difficulty and game mechanics, and the atmosphere supports it all.

The "current power level" display is hidden by the player's health bar.

I liked the possibility of having several ways of building up the demon, and you have to do it wisely because it can quickly become complicated.

Great job!![561468468.JPG](///raw/cbb/f5/z/64bf6.jpg)
