This game has a really neat idea and i adored it, but i feel like the lighting couldve used a bit of work, since the shading feels a bit odd

@art-Man-Oil thanks for the feedback!
Yeah I wish we had more time to spend on the visual but the programming took the majority of our time

Awesome little game! The arrow notation makes me flash back to battling terminids and automatons 😅
My one gripe is that after restarting it seems to make me go through the tutorial again, which was a bit long/slow.
Still, a fun core mechanic that might be even cooler if integrated into a larger game! It makes me think back to my days of playing DnD, where spells had both verbal and somatic components to them!

@breadstick Glad you liked the game. You perfectly picked up on both of our inspirations for the game.
You can skip the tutorial if you hit the start button on the menu rather than the tutorial button

Oh my gosh, how did you guys whip up such an astounding piece in such little time? I'm head over heels for your art style – it must've been a herculean effort, right? And the game's difficulty is just perfect, exuding a vibe of total maturity. I'm so hyped, I can't wait to throw my cash at it! Shut up and take my money!!

@drgcandle Thank you! It may have only been a weekend but it felt like weeks. The last few hours were exhilarating, trying to get everything we want in, and we still couldn't. enChant was a really mix of doing things we're familiar with and trying something totally new (voice recognition + 2.5D art design).
Glad you enjoyed it!

Real neat idea! Unfortunately, I had problems getting it to recognize what I was saying, but I really love the idea and think it's really cute!

LOL this was so fun. The wand swinging combined with the sounds when you got the direction was very satisfying. The audio detection was a bit finicky at first but I found if I chanted the summon's name it would always work (also chanting gave me more immersion :) ).

I'm in love with this idea. Reminds of old Harry Potter games in learning spells sections.
However, I couldn't experience this game. The tutorial didn't recognize my wand movements as correct most of the time, and the game wouldn't detect my voice correctly. I managed to summon something only one time out of the tutorial, after that - only skeletons. And I didn't know what was wrong each time. Maybe it'd be helpful to have a written hint why the spell didn't work (was it chanting or wand movement? Seeing how tutorial went, it could be both). It'd also be helpful if the game visualized the wand movements that it recognized (with arrows) and wrote the words that I was chanting (with text label), this way I'd have an idea if I was doing this right.

Maybe it's something wrong on my device. I'll try it with a different one later, and if something changes, I'll let you know. Game feedback would still be very helpful!

Anyway, that's a very creative, charming and fun entry! Giving you highest ratings. Great job!

Cool I really like the concept. Unfortunately it didn't recognise my voice so well xD
