Salmoning by kuviman

You have been Summoned. I mean, Salmon'd -- both, actually.
Note: this is an online multiplayer game, best experienced with multiple players.
You had to give it all up just so you can start fresh. Swimtop City had an opportunity that was too good to pass up. After all, who could pass on those sweet, sweet hats.
It's time to accept your summons and take on the task of delivering items to and fro in this new place you call home. In this new turf, there's no shortage of new companions that you can turn into your allies. Come up to Salmbody and invite them to your crew. Earn those hard. cold, clams and get yourself all the hats!
So it's time to get your fins on that bike and summon your allies. Don't let the flow of traffic stop you from going against the current and taking shortcuts.
It's Salmoning time.

It took me a while to realize I could just drive out at the beginning. But after that, very fun little experience.
Immortalising my significant, definitely non-fleeting achievement. Always love a multiplayer LD.
I really like it a lot, and of course the radio is the best XD
And the first person camera feels very fast, and kinda empowering, if that makes sense?
Good experience

Also HUNGRRYYYY!!!!11!!!1!
great stuff guys :)
Omg this game is so fun. I am still playing it at the moment, I just want to share where I am in the ranking at the moment, I have already invited my friends to play it, it is incredible. The radio is superior xd
Edit:
I keep playing it with friends

We had lots of fun chasing the dots together! It's a really cool little city layout, the art, the music radio, the driving, all of it is amazing!
I love how the cars just bump the players around. It's just annoying enough to incentivize trying to avoid them while keeping the multiplayer space friendly and happy without stress. I also love the inclusion of little features like the high score table, the selection of social hats/bikes, and the ability to ring a bell to greet other players. You even have a team mode that is kind of cool, because we had to learn to wait for the other players to make sure everyone gets paid without any communication besides ringing bells or emoting (bouncing, really).
If I had to be super picky: The meta of a high score and clothing selections only go so far before they get dull. It would be cool to get actual performance upgrades, or perhaps harder but better paying mission offers. But honestly, what is there is great and rather relaxing.
This is insanely impressive for a jam project. I can only imagine how much coordination it took to both develop and troubleshoot/try out the multiplayer stuff on a jam deadline. We didn't want to leave, even with the limited gameplay. It was such a welcoming, peaceful world in which we could just hang out and ride all over the city. Big two thumbs up for this one!  :smiley_cat:
Press B to pay respects :( :( :(
Initially, I was having fun playing impressed by the presentation, sick radio stations and overall polish, but when I saw another player and realized it was multiplayer I was blown away. Very impressive for an LD, and a cool way to make the gameplay more engaging. Awesome job all around!!
Special props to the name of the game, that's an incredible pun lol
It's amazing it was done for a ludum dare. Loved the art and the radio!
Had a good time zooming around town doing wheelies!
Thought the art style was cool.
Loved the music and satisfying bell ringing.
Overall great work!

The graphics are fitting very well together, and the cars are pretty cute :-)
Having different hats is a very welcome addition.
Edit: After reading that this is a multiplayer, I was blown away! I saw one other player "badcop" and thought it was some kind of NPC. I never dare to create a multiplayer, as 40 people tops will play my entry. It would be a very lonely multiplayer then
5\5
Edit also love the use of theme/word play!
oh! and thanks to a mysterious "dave" that engaged in some emote action with me tonight
this is me right now

Impressive muliplayer skills here.

Great job!
Maybe, a few in-game hints would be nice. I didn't realize at first that you have to drive out of the garage to start actually playing. And maybe some people are going to miss some keys for unnecessary things like emotes and radio.
Great job! Good luck to your team in your future projects!
I'm playing on a small laptop and I don't know why but the window of the game wouldn't stop scrolling top. (like in the screenshot)
GTA in 72 hours, no problem for the team! Congratulations on the submission!
Really love the presentation overall. Gives this a pretty chill and fun vibe
(great game btw)

Seriously though, driving in games feels so therapeutic and addictive, and that's true for this game too. It was a very enjoyable experience to just drive around for like an hour. Great entry!

I had a lot of fun and relaxed... as a team!
It's really easy to play and works well, different view, humor and more... Thanks for a great time!
Congratulations!
also, from merriam webster:
3. to call upon for specified action
4. to bid to come : send for
idk what more you want tbh
> also, from merriam webster
I think you'd better add that to the description.
Also please more salmon metal (please).
Concerning feedback, I can only think of asking for additional content in regards to the game play loop, making summonings more variable, but I couldn't tell you what.
Thanks for making this!
Great work!
Now I know why there are bicycles in the kanal! Haha!
I watched this being played multi-player on a stream
a few days ago and there was much fun!
Great Stuff, I dig it!
Really lovely work!
Despite the bugginess of the teams, we still had a great time playin' it! Somethin' about multiplayer shenanigans always brings out the best/worst in us.
I loved that you used signs in the game world to show the highscore and screenshots. Was a very cool moment when I saw the radio advertisement, pressed R and got to listen so some fantastic silly songs  In general I liked the vibe of the city. Great work, especially when you consider that this is actually an online multiplayer!
