Welcome to Mable’s own little Realm.

Mables Realm_Titlescreen.png

The castle is under attack. In Mable's realm, you need to combine at least four marble-heads of the same color to summon her minions and defend the castle.

Use arrow keys to move the marbles and spacebar to rotate them.

Very fun game! Reminds me of this one game on the Wii that I played the living hell out of.

This was a very clever game. Really liked your take on the theme, and the gameplay was fun. I would have liked to have the ability to swap the marbles before i drop them, but that is just me. The artwork was superb, and I loved the user interface. Great game!

This is sooo cute and joyful, sparks positive childhood memories and made me feel all warm inside. The art style is absolute fantastic, the cutest tower defence I've played.

What a blast! Enjoyed playing this game alot - only a shame i was a bit too focused on the "tetris" to watch the battles. Really amazing art, and the sounds added a fun element as well!

Excellent visuals and gameplay! (Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine is one of my all-time favorites :))

Awesome theme, the art style is perfectly executed imo. Really great work. The music fits super well with the theme and its fun watching the little battle play out as you get correct matches. Really interesting twist on the summoning theme.

Tetris with round heads. Nice twist with the fighting.

Nothing to add, the game is very good.

Fun game with an awesome and original aesthetic. Cool take on a summoning mechanic by combining it with a matching colours game, with the different colours spawning different type of soldiers.

Only thing is, I think sometimes the enemies would get behind the place where my guys would spawn, and my guys wouldn't go back to defend my base. I also got caught a little off guard when losing pulled me straight back to the main menu, I think it would have been nice to have a simple 'you lose' screen.

@colourarc Thanks for the feedback! Just between you and me: There is actually a _horrible_ lot of bugs and hacky things going on under the hood just so we'd end up with something presentable in time (the code has an actual #DONT TRY THIS AT HOME comment in it ^^"), so sadly I have to say: I know, but we had to ship anyways...

That said, we've already decided to give the game another free weekend or two for post-jam-polish. I plan to completely rewrite the puyo-puyo-code which currently is a total mess and to finish the whole autobattle-thing (which was literally thrown together in like six hours and is mostly smoke and mirrors.. <<), adding the missing characters shown in the picture on top of this page, adding animations and most importantly the ability to detect and prioritize enemys attacking the base.

That said, I hope we were able to at least give an idea of where we wanted to go here, regardless of bugs. If you do have the spare time, I'd greatly appreciate you checking out the post-jam version once it's done and released. :)

Thanks again for the feedback and good night (or day - whatevers currently appropriate for your region)

@Shanzai I hope I didn't come across as too critical, I did think the game was great, one of my favourites so far actually, and obviously in a higher league than my little effort. Will definitely check out the updated game!

The art style is great and the concept is fun.
I don't know how but it could be interesting to be able to have more focus on the fight because I was only focused on the game on the left and didn't have much time to see what's going on.
But overall it's a good game!

I find the music very sweet, reminds me of FF for whatever reason. It also feels very nice to combine the links and that it doesn't matter if it's in a row. The sound effects were "interesting"? xD

Really really great entry with an awesome visual style, super impressed. I couldn't really tell if getting more than 4 matches made any difference, and I seemed to die even though I still had lots of dudes on the field, but the matching gameplay was fun and the aesthetics were incredible. Great job :)

Such an interesting concept! It's executed excellently, and I adore your artistic direction for both sound design and graphics. Well done!

As a suggestion for improvement (though certainly not necessary within the scope of a jam), I would recommend adding a gameplay mechanism that requires a bit more attention on the battlefield screen. For instance, allowing the player to choose unit locations could provide a nice contrast to the focus solely on the "match 3/4 view".

A strong point of your game is that no tutorial is required to play it.
Well done!

@aune Thats a great idea! We're going to do a post-jam-version for more polish anyways, we'll see if we can come up with something :) Thanks for the feedback!

I had already seen the process of this game in the posts while the jam was going on and I was really looking forward to try it!
The art is excellent, I love it, it reminds me a lot of toy story, I don't know why haha.
The game is a lot of fun, the audio is superior xd

Nice art style and easy to grasp gameplay! It was nice seeing a new take on the classic "bejeweled" type of game. Maybe I didn't play long enough, but it would be nice if the game sped up/gave larger pieces as time went on to make things more difficult.

Couldn't get it to run on itch in browser :(
It says the page is unresponsive and doesn't load all the way.
I'm on the Arc browser (Chromium based) on Mac fwiw.

Cute graphics and music. What I didn't understand is why the game didn't end when I reduced the enemy's HP to zero, and then a new wave spawned. You should make it clearer that the game is about surviving waves, not defeating the enemy once. That's the only thing I found a bit confusing. Grats!

Really solid submission! The visuals were super cute and the audio was fitting. The tetris-like gameplay summoning characters to fight for you adds a little chaos and rewards strategic and quick decision making. Well done!

Very cute artstyle with perfectly fitting sound effects... and the music
I enjoyed how simple the gameplay was at it's core, so it was very easy to just jump in. Was wondering about a bit about some of the behaviors of the characters, but I just saw your comment on the bugs. You could have convinced me that some of these things were intended features ;)
My biggest small critique would be that the game ramps up a bit fast. I often a bit too busy aligning marbles, when I really wanted to watch the battle. Guess thats the curse of a nice style. Good job :)
