Elemental Combat Demo I Guess by Erukolindo
A bare-bones, unpolished turn-based combat system inspired by Cardinal Quest 2.
Use mouse/arrows/WASD to move. Number buttons 1-4 select abilities, left clicking on a highlighted tile selects the direction, right click cancels. The abilities are: 1. Smite - knock the target away as far as possible, dealing initial damage, plus damage on impact 2. Throw - swap places with the target and damage them 3. Rock Throw - deal small amount of damage at range 4. Charge - move towards the target, dealing some damage on impact
The idea was that you would play as a summoner, conjuring various elementals (each with a different moveset), taking control of them and having to fight off waves of enemies. While you control an elemental, the summoner just stands still, channeling his magic to control the summoned elemental. And if he takes any damage, he loses concentration on the spell, meaning that this particular elemental becomes an enemy. But I didn't have nearly enough time for that, as between work, getting somewhat sick and just procrastinating, I got to spend at most 8 hours total working on this. And considering how little time I put into it, I'm honestly fairly satisfied with the result. Especially since I treated this Ludum Dare as an excuse to experiment with turn based combat, and what I've made will definitely be a good basis for a future project.
The HTML build was causing issues and I have neither time nor energy to deal with that, so a Windows build is all I can offer.

Apart from that, I attacked some enemies and it showed numbers (damage?) But they never really died. Can they?
The fighting mechanics were good though and I liked the highlighted fields that show your attack range.
Keep up the effort :)
