I do think a little more information on how the scoring works would be great (Does the length of each note matter? I assume so but its hard to know how close I was after the fact).
Overall great entry! Keep it up.
A couple suggestions for improvement: I would have liked to see my score a little more prominently after each level to give more clear feedback on how well I did before it proceeded (I see the score on the left, but something a little more central might be nice for me). It wasn't clear to me how much my rhythm affected my score - if rhythm matters, a metronome might be nice to make the rhythm more clear (at least for when you introduce to melody). Lastly, I found the countdown a little long for me, and I sometimes would forget parts of the melody while waiting for it (but maybe that would get better if I practiced more :) ) - but maybe that is intentional design to add challenge
Overall it's a fun little game, great job!
Good job, the mechanic works well.
Nitpicky suggestions to add a bit of polish:
* Try different scales, like maybe a pentatonic scale, to help each song sound more musical instead of just random. It wouldn't involve changing any logic!
* Fade the notes out instead of just stopping them. Right now, it clicks at the end of each note.
The fact that my comments are about music instead of gaming should be a good sign. :)
I have Firefox as my browser and no worries about testing the other games in the jam, but I guess this is it.
Too bad! I really would have liked to test this musical game, it sounds like a cool idea! :(
