Triage and Motion by Literally Void

[raw]
made by Literally Void for Ludum Dare 55 (COMPO)

You’ve only got so many turrets, so make them count. You can’t move them once they’ve been placed into an arena, and you only get them back if nobody crosses the finish line. You've got to make the important decisions—fast.

I love the vibe! The sound and music were really fun and unique. The minimalist art style worked well too. Not really seeing how it fits with the theme, but still I could see myself playing this for a while!

@warren-fisher Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you like the music more than I do, hah. The sounds were all made in LMMS---not the right tool, but in the end the best tool is the one you have. And I'd expect this game to be measurably worse for how addicting it is! (not very, but my brain is just built different™ :) )

I've never been one for tower defense games, but this was a nice one. It got a bit hectic quickly but the graphics where really nice and the sound matched. Nice entry!

This is a solid all around TD game. I couldn't figure out how to rotate the towers, but some really vertical levels felt like that would be needed to win.

The drag and dropping doesnt work for me in firefox :( . But it runs in great in chrome! Really like the art style and fluid controls. Maybe it's my postjam brain but it feels a little bit to fast in the beginning. With the side by side maps, I would like it if the turrets could should across sides.

@cleverdumb Yeah, even catches *me* out, and I made the dang thing LOL. Thanks for the review!

@daandruff I'm glad my game design is good enough to change your opinions <3 And yeah, before the jam started, "being overwhelmed" was one of the feelings I was aiming to give, and (IMHO) it worked out pretty well!

@theyflower That's totally my fault, sory. I didn't test enough with other browsers, and I believe it's fixed now. Thank you for appreciating a worse game! ;)

@vinzbad Thank you for the bug report, and I believe it's fixed now. (It took me a while to replicate because only scrolling wasn't working, and I personally use the `R` key to rotate turrets instead of scrolling!)

Thank you all for the kind words!

Whoops  I several confession to make

* I misread @vinzbad's comment, have *not* fixed drag and drop, and could never replicate this issue.

* There was another bug (never assume there's only one bug!) that broke rotating turrets with the keyboard (sorry @theyflower!)

I like the concept, I think its a cool unique take on the tower defense genre to have the towers damage each other, makes you think more about placement. Minimalist style is good and audio was nice. Great work

Mind blown, you single-handedly achieved so much – that's just unreal, my friend!

This game was really cool! It is very clear in terms of visuals and information for the player. I like the art and love the effects! Not sure if it was intended but I wasn't aware I could scroll and see more screens for quite a while so I was confused what was going on lol. All in all great game! Would play again

Thanks, @drgcandle, @merrow, and especially @sodagummy for the feedback! I agree that I should've made it clearer---I'll keep it in mind for next time :)

This game was excellent! Game feel was brillant. Animations, sounds, it felt very responsive. The different turrets were simple and great to create interesting strategies. Congrats!

The graphics and sound effects were great. I liked how the turrets damaged each other which added a lot of complexity to the gameplay. Overall, the game just felt very clean. I do kind of the wish the towers fired on a beat though lol. I had one run where I guess I managed to place them on the beat and it actually sounded pretty awesome. Overall, great job!

Really solid game, had a lot of fun; The only thing holding it back for me is how little it felt like it had to do with the theme to be honest.

@thomas-bringer, @kirass thank you!

@rcxa Thank you! Now I'm sad I didn't think of that though :)

@Cosmo8 Thank you! And yeah, I hit creative bankruptcy the moment the theme came out, and decided that building *something* was worth it.
