Great idea ! But the control are a litle bit confusing.

Maybe (on keyboard), use the mouse for the spell selection (and just reduce movement speed when doing this)

This is a wonderful game! I really like how directions are tied to spells! Usually 2d games are pretty symmetrical, but here it isn't. Furthermore I like how casting spells has a drawback. Like wild magic going out of control. Really interesting game and I like it!

Very cool! I thought the controls for spell casting worked well, and loved the concept that your spells can come back to haunt you as new enemies. I found the tutorial quite fun, but the main game spawned slightly too many enemies too quickly, so I died quite quickly... maybe decreasing the attack cooldown could help fend off enemies?

Anyway good stuff overall :)

Fun little game. Like the twist that you're summoning enemies. Though I couldn't figure out how to kill my summoned enemies without hurting myself.

Cool game, nice artwork! I have a lot of trouble understanding how to make the controls work (keyboard), I feel like there is some kind of very long cooldown for spells, or my spacebar works once in 10 times...

For anyone who doesn't understand the controls, you first hold space without holding a direction and once menu pops up you press the direction of the spell you want to use.

@oller125 Generally you use the fire spell to beat the other enemies you summoned. If you have a large group of fire enemies you could one of the other spells to bring down the numbers. If there are only a couple enemies left you can start attacking them with melee. It's designed so that it's impossible to attack large groups of enemies with melee, good luck.

Very cute game. Love the retro design. My partner commented on it making her want to play older zelda titles! And loved the controller support!

Pretty good! When I tried to summon a fire attack, it bugged out and wouldn't let me summon anything else, but when I tried reproducing this glitch, I wasn't able

The game looks good and I like how the spells are supposed to work, it could be quite dynamic.

Sadly the control seemed to be a bit buggy for me (couldn't casts spells by holding space without moving most of the time, it was quite random) and since it is designed to not be able to fight off crowd with melee I couldn't really do much. It is also a bit strange not to be able to hit if there's no enemy near you.

Still, I think there's potential !

@sevenso Hmm.. I think there is a weird bug going on, that I haven't come across myself. You should be able to attack when there is no enemy near you. Thanks for giving it a try!
