First, a city case worker,

Then, a mining contractor,

Finally, a European backpacker.

They must be connected. The city has sent their finest to Bendirat to uncover the mystery of the missing people, the town, and most importantly, themselves. Its a retro style point and click detective game set in outback Australia and I got covid on the last night of the game jam alright thanks have fun cheers.

The music kept me going! It loops so well, and really adds to the Obra Dinn aesthetics. Great writing! Some of the UI components were blurry or placeholder-y, but hey, done is better than perfect.

Well, that was certainly interesting. I liked the vibe, and the visuals are great. Story was interesting enough for me to make it to the end. I didn't solve the puzzle and did the cheat. Great stuff :8ball:

Holy shit dude that's a solid 5/5 mood. I'm a sucker for story focused games and I enjoyed this so much! the world building is solid and the characters feel real (until stuff happen lol). music is also really fitting. look man I did my best with the door puzzle, I just couldn't figure it out, it must've been something to abstract for monke brain, so thank you for allowing me to skip it and get the ending! overall I enjoyed this one a lot! good luck with covid.

The atmosphere of this game is just unbelievable. Both music and visuals add so much to the story and vibe. The dialogues were quite simple a sharp to the point as it should be in a Ludum Dare entry. Very well designed and executed game.

I love the aesthetic of the game, and it was refreshing to see the theme explored like this ! I liked it a lot, would love to see a longer version of it.

The visuals and the music created such a good atmosphere that it actually made me wish it was a little less tongue in cheek. I liked the character writing.

Count me as one of the people who was too small brain to understand the puzzle and had to use the cheat though lol

Get well soon!

The atmosphere of this is very good, I didn't find the story extremely interesting but I still played through the whole thing to see where it would go. It was very nice. "except for the puzzle or maybe I'm just dumb"

Okay I LOVE the style. It fits with the vibe and music really well. I'm a big fan of story/ point and click style games so this was perfect for me. I think the tone in the beginning worked was eerie. It seemed to get more humorous towards the end. (I did use the hint button and that got a good laugh) overall such a great idea. I would love to play a more fleshed out version!

Awesome style with great character. Sorry to read about getting Covid with fever, but way to go using it as fuel for inspiration :D

Like the art style! Wish there were a bigger screen on itch io, hard to see the text dialogs.

I love the world building. You did a great job making this little town feel alive. I tried so hard to understand the puzzle, but I just couldn't connect the dots unfortunately. I would have loved a hint. The writing is so good, and I was genuinely intrigued throughout. The twist ending had me even more intrigued!

The game was a lot of fun! I love story based games and this one was super interesting! I really enjoyed the graphics, the ambience, and the bits of humor here and there. I did solve the puzzle but I don't actually really know "why" I solved it. I really can't for the life of me understand why that position ending up working... regardless though I think this was a really well-made game and I would love to see more of it. Also I really loved the Kishōtenketsu reference. I had to look it up but it made me chuckle after the end of it.

Thank you Covid... well no... but yes anyway.
This atmosphere... Waow! Who's in charge of the music? Did you compose it or use a sound bank?

Nice job!

Unfortunate that you weren't able to properly finish it. I really liked the vibe of the game. It's a bit annoying that to trigger the dialogue again I need to leave and enter the same area (I don't think there is another way?). I'm very curious as to what the answer was to the door puzzle. Cool plot twist though!

This must have been inspired by Hot Fuzz or have similar roots hahahah, but pure Australian version. That art style is great. Nice job

@k-toll Hi, I composed the music! It was my only contribution this time around; whereas @enad96 did all the planning, writing, art, and programming. :)

Absolutely love the atmosphere! With this music and art, if the game was just a text compilation of your fever dreams, I would still play it. Amazing job.

I loved mood, retro aesthetics like 8088 PC Hercules / old Macintosh games but brown tint makes them look like old BW photos, great combination! Graphics work very well and music is perfect.

What a hidden gem! The amazing music with that distinctive bass line combined with the unique graphic style creates an incredible mood for the game!
