PARTYCRUSHER... or something cool like that by zirzak

[raw]
made by zirzak for Ludum Dare 55 (JAM)

Description

So, here's the deal: you play as Janette Adamberger, a first semester student from the prestigious Summoning Institute for Gifted Children and Magical Prodigies. She's trying to sneak into a party the Economic Studies guys are throwing. Her summoning powers are really not that great yet, though. So that might be a problem.

Featuring:

  • An 18 wheel truck.
  • Some guy named Aaron. (Who let him in?)
  • Wholesome family pissing time! :)

Controls

Just click the links and images as they appear. Purple text indicates that you will summon what the word says.

Technologies

  • Twine
  • ClipStudio Paint
  • Photoshop
  • Krita

Notes

This game is best played on fullscreen. The itch.io version starts on fullscreen automatically and works better overall.

Thanks for playing our game.

I don’t see IF (aka text quests) very often, so I was pleasantly surprised. Some sprites are blurry in places, but overall the graphic style is readable and interesting. Nice work.

Have to say, this made me laugh the most so far of all the games tested. I GOT TO PET THAT DAWG! :joy:

Great entry, lots of fun, even if a super simple text quest/adventure book/Stanley Parableto the simplest form possible - well done!

Wow, talk about a picky audience. The DJ takes a short break to pet a dog, and the party dies? Sounds like it wasn't a great party to begin with.

Fun entry, very unique.

There are cool artwork and sometimes funny dialogs, but it seems to be missing some more sections besides choosing a dialog option

I never really played this kind of game, but it was really fun! I like the storytelling, and the jokes were really funny and some of them really unexpected. But now i know that there is a fish called mullet. The only thing i would have like to see, is that the gorgeous illustrations stayed on screen while you talk to the people. This way you have some more visuals and you can see them longer than just 1 second. Keep up the awesome work!

Was not expecting to see a text-based adventure. Everything about this is awesome.

Love this game, it's super charming, the writing is very quirky and fun and it's clear it was made from a place of love. The art is simple and non-intruse which fits the narrative. Well done!

Interesting game, it was fun trying out different routes. You managed to incorporate the theme into a text-based adventure which is pretty cool. Good job!

Not used to games with only plain text(+ plus a few images), but the plot and dialogue seem to be quite funny and interesting. Good job on your first attempt!

Very different approach from other games, thought it was kinda charming. Some audio and perhaps background images could've added a bit more to it, but good stuff regardless!
