Greetings, recruit!

Mega-Earth needs you. Sending you to the battlefield is still premature. So for now, you will work as a driver.

The Helldriver!

logo - Frame1.png

The plan is as follows:

  1. Pick up passengers,
  2. Take them to their destination,
  3. Give change.
  4. ...
  5. Profit!

If you've heard rumors that unknown creatures have started appearing on the roads, don't believe them. This is a lie and insect propaganda!

Controls

  • Mouse — select screen / move passenger / use cash register
  • WASD — movement / use ~~stratagem~~ summon

If passengers are stuck and don't want to get out, use "FIX BUGS" ~~stratagem~~ summon.

I was actually pretty surprised with this! Actually pretty fun to play and manage. I now understand why the "fix bugs" strategem exists. Though, I would recommend tuning down the audio, it was pretty grating some times.

There's a lot going on with this game, and not a lot in the way of in-game feedback, so I found it a little disorienting. I can tell that it's impressively put together and I like the way you can focus on the different windows, but without clear directives it can be challenging to get into. I like the visuals and music, and the overall systems are spot-on! Really impressive work for a jam.

The amount of motion sickness was worth the 5 minutes of playing I could do.

This game just proved that I would be the worst bus driver. Really fun and realistic multitasking/multimanaging/bus driving sim, I enjoyed a lot

Took me a while to fully grasp, has a lot of individual moving parts, but overall quite fun.

I feel like the game could've used a tutorial. I can see a lot of thing,s but I'm not sure what I have to actually do.

Would be nice if bus stops were signaled slightly earlier too and the bus was more in the middle of the screen - it was a little hard to follow right now.

The UI looks cool though.

Was confusing at first, but after I got the hang of picking passengers, giving change and buying upgrades it felt amazing. Riding the bus is just so relaxing.

What I played was enjoyable but the game could have definitely benefitted from a tutorial and gradual introduction of the mechanics. Still a good entry though!

It was fairly confusing at first. The people on the side of the road could wave, or something, and there could be more warning. But I got the hang of it. The best score seemed to come from squashing the big bugs.

That was cozy. Took a couple minutes to figure out, had a nice gentle nightcall run.
The guys never bugged out btw.

It took me some time to understand what to do but then it all made sense and I had a good time — loved to be a bus driver haha
Also the UI is innovative so good job on that!

I like that there are many game mechanics interacting with each other. But it was difficult to figure out how to play: I think the game would really benefit from some in-game hints or even a tutorial.

Also, the game froze when one of the passengers tried to leave the vehicle while I was driving.

Still, it's always fun to run over some bugs! Great job!

I'm very sorry because it looks cool, the little sounds, the graphics, but I understood absolutely nothing... I'm not likely to go and defend democracy
