Really cool game & aesthetic, but I couldn't get the 8-ball to validate my pentagram. Tried several times :(

@james-greenleaf In the web (HTML5) version, due to the image processing algorithm, the page may freeze for some players. It's not perfect, sometimes a simple page reload helps.

If you have a problem with accuracy, try painting as many dark pixels as possible.
But thanks for your time. On which pentagram did you fail to pass the validation?

I love the concept of it, the art is great, multiple songs in the music player and the puzzles were great.
it did freeze the first time i drew the pentagram but after a reload it worked fine.

Nice game! The graphics are really cool, and I love the idea. It's a good old-fashionned point&click, without having to think too much outside of the box to solve the riddles.

I think highlighting which of the objects we have not placed (and maybe give a few hints if needed?) would have helped, but I understand the time limits were too much to do this, and you've placed an "answer" file anyway with the game.

Cool game, cool graphics and audio, cool idea: congrats!

Pretty deep game for a jam. Well done. The music was good, and I liked that you included a music player to change it. Some of the controls were difficult. For example, I put an incorrect object in the drawing, and it was super sensitive as to where the mouse need to be to pick it back up and get it out.

Cute game, the pixel art is really pretty, i love the small touches like the candle lighting up. I struggled to find the right combinations, it would be nice if the magic ball points out what's incorrect, specifically whether I had the incorrect items or a bad drawing (like "hmmm, that line looks a bit wobbly" or "that's a strange item...". Good job though, there's a lot of little details in the environment which were really nice, especially liked the summoning room and the chalk drawings all over the walls.

First of all, I loved the game a lot. The art style is gorgeous, the calm music is a perfect addition in the background (and that you can change the song is a great feature) and I found the item gathering to be really well done with just the right amount of item combining and searching. However, I immensely struggled with the actual summoning part because in my opinion the 8-ball is way too strict with the circle drawing. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea, but the drawing part almost made my hand cramp and I was under incredible stress in this otherwise very relaxing and calm game. It took me about 3 or 4 attempts every single time, I just couldn't figure out the correct way to do it. I think this is made more difficult by the fact that the line does not originate from the top of the chalk which makes it incredibly hard to stay in the marking, especially in the lower left quadrant of the circle. I think a more forgiving circle detection or an indicator where exactly you draw your line would immensely improve accessibility. Other than that, this is an incredibly well polished, very nice looking game that I had a lot of fun playing :)

@initialposition Yes, there is such a thing. I edited the validation algorithm many times, trying to achieve some kind of balance  The most effective way to pass validation is to try to paint over as many dark pixels as possible. Anyway, thanks for playing! I am glad you enjoyed the game.

Was really getting into it, but somehow crashed the game by accidentally clicking the 8-ball with the blue chalk in my hand. So gutted as I was so close to spawning the gf :( Overall, art was great (amazed you made so many assets in so little time), might have been nice to have a wee bit more sfx on item pickups, but still a great game. Good job!

As a classical point-and-click lover I enjoyed this one A LOT. Amazing art, interesting circle drawing mechanic (good thinking adding a way to check your circle correctness beforehand!), funny concept - everything was on par. And the fact that you get a ring at the cursor in the end is just a chefs kiss. It was sometimes hard to remove items from the circle, you had to be very precise where you click. But that was the only problem I stumbled upon. Overall great entry, absolutely loved it.

Fun game, I like that you did a point-and-click game, which isn't that common nowadays. I enjoyed it! I needed a bit of help on the second and third pentagrams, but the help text was nice. I did encounter the image freeze bug when checking, so I had to restart from the beginning, and given that the game completely restarts, I was a bit scared to check, so I tried to be thorough.

I think the biggest improvement would be on the pentagram drawing, as it feels too strict. It wants me to fill in a lot of the circle, but not overfill/draw outside too much, and that's hard on a computer with a mouse. Some kind of simplified pentagram drawing would make it much less tedious, especially when the pattern gets super complicated at the end.

Overall though, I enjoyed the game, and the art/music was really good! Nice job on this entry!

@cal-clarke Yes, it’s a shame that the web version has such a strange bug, and some people have it and others don’t  Initially, the game was developed for Windows, but in the last hours of the event I decided to add a web version, because some players prefer this format. Anyway, thanks for playing our game!
