The Saint Of The Great Sorrow by Jonathan Lorenz

Perform the summoning ritual. Nothing will go wrong ... GreatSorrow1.png

Hey Ludum Darers!

So I didn't have time to do this LD but I didn't want to skip it (i'm on a strike and didn't wanted to break my combo), so I did this little game in just one day using every shortcut that I could : the character controller is from unity basics pack, the 3d assets are from synty, most of the sfxs are from free assets, and the code for the "quests" is a modified version of another project of mine. I'm off to work, looking forward to play your games!

Cheers! GreatSorrow3.png

The environment was very nice! The game play wasn't super engaging or challenging. Also a wider FOV would've been really nice.

Well done, the atmosphere of alchemical magic is well conveyed! I want to play more, what happened after the summoning ;)

This was fun and very good looking! I admit I got stuck for a bit looking for the "magical stone" (didn't get that it could be the crystal!), but I managed to finish it :) There's also a fun way you could build this up on, like adding a horror element on your way to each items, something being mad that you're performing the ritual and trying to stop you.

@outstar Thanks! Not gonna continue this one, it will stay a game jam project, but I will use and expand on the "quest" mechanics for some parts of my game Final Girl (wishlist it on steam :D). It is definitively more horror themed than this one ;)

Great atmosphere and environment, and congrats for doing that in only one day, even with mostly pre-made assets.

Wow! That's pro putting that together so fast. Everything fits well and creates a mood. The gameplay is a bit basic, but what can we expect for a 1 day game?

Nice game, I got stuck trying to find the magic gem. I thought it was the purple gems on the scale at first, it could be good to consider what colors catches the player's eyes when wanting to guide the player to an object. But good job!

Really impressive what you got done in such a short amount of time! There's a great atmosphere here that was really fun/unnerving to explore

Ah, I apologize! It was fun and very good-looking, yes? I admit I got stuck for a bit looking for the 'magical stone' (didn't realize it could be the crystal!), but I managed to finish it. There's also a fun way you could build upon this, like adding a horror element on your way to each item, something being mad that you're performing the ritual and trying to stop you

I'm impressed in what you managed to create in such a short period of time. I think the only criticism I have is the same as everyone else about the magic stone. The atmosphere was good too.

It bubbled, I brewed, I bellowed, it stewed. It swelled, I'm well, a cauldron, green, and a spell.
Very atmospheric. Nice work!
