Pitchfork Pandemonium by AndideBob

[raw]
made by AndideBob for Ludum Dare 55 (JAM)

Only a few hours after you moved into your new fancy wizard tower on a cliff, a bunch of villagers show up with pitchforks and torches. This can't mean anything good... You better summon some undead to fight them off.

My first ever LD Game made in Godot. And I only just learned that Godot 4 does not allow for C# Web builds, so you will have to download the game I guess. Have fun!

I too, like the little guys walking around. I think the vampire with the little bats are my favorite.

Really solid and polished entry, great job ^^

I really enjoyed the spawn timer at the top, it helps the player make more informed decisions which is pretty nice.

Loved it! It's super intuitive how to play, i loved the graphics, and the music, and the mechanics! Good job! The only weird thing is that sometimes the soldiers pass by their enemies, but it's probably something you already figured out for the next version  I gave you all fives, nice!

Feels a lot like an old flash game I used to play called "Age of War", really fun! I really wanted my dudes to wait and double-back instead of running off screen, but I suppose that's maybe just something I needed to get used to. I really liked the variety in units, but it felt like most of the time the basic skeleton was the most effective unit given you had the time. Overall good job, I hope to see this one polished up!

I love these types of games, takes me back to the times when I played Age of War as a kid! The small sprites are super cute, especially love how the skeletons turn their face.

The mummy is so OP! But still a fun little game, the speed which units are summoned adds a lot to the strategy!

Loved this game! Great first attempt in Godot. The little creatures had so much character for their sprite size <3

Super nice game! Really well done, especially as your first attempt at Godot. I think it would felt better, if enemies and player minions could fights more that 1 vs 1, if there are no more opponents to fight near by, instead of just passing by others fighting. And I would love even more levels! Good job!

I like the variety of different monsters and humans, all requiring slight changes in strategy. I wish my guys didn't run off the screen completely ignoring the enemies right next to them though. That's a bit frustrating.

The game is a lot of fun! Great job!

kinda reminds me of some old flash games i loved to play way back in the day xD
there was a lot of unit variety and their sprites/anims were great!

i played through a couple times to try out more units and trying different strats hehehe >:D
a endless mode where your mana carries over to the next day could be sick to encourage optimal strats more and fast forward button!

fav units:
-the fleshy wall: i think this guy makes good use of the lifetime system and feels very unique in the way he needs to be played. he was also garbage against the archer (if archer was top lane and i spawned wall mid, he just couldnt get to him before dying) which i think really highlights how deep the strategy could become if pushed to more extremes
-vampire: cuz bats cute
least fav unit:
the red skele: too much cost compared to normal skele i think. runs faster but that doesn't seem as important for the defending side. takes longer to spawn so kinda offsets any usefulness of being faster
