Nooo don't cry, I'm playing your game! ;(
This was hilarious, and pretty fun once I got a hang on it! I found myself screaming at my onions "where are you going??? I need you here!" as I was trying to summon.
I only wish the music was a bit more fitting the theme of what was happening, it was super cozy and comfy when I was running around trying to defend my spot!

Overall, great job!

It was very fun. The onions were really cut. What i didnt like was when he hit one part of a summoning in progress you lose all 3.

Really nicely polished, I loved the aesthetics! The boss fight mechanics on the second level were awesome. Though the levels could be a bit shorter, right now it feels a bit repetitive. Which wasn't that big of a problem on the first level, because I could easily dodge the attacks. But on the second level the attacks are hard to avoid, while I still have to aim with my attacks... so after some time we were both at low health, and I missed, while he didn't. So that was a bit long way to die.

Anyway, let me know if it becomes a bit easier because I would like to play it through! Cheers :)

@outstar My first attempt at music was trying to lean towards "fantasy action," but as I scrambled to compose anything with the limited time I had at the end of the jam, it just turned out horribly lol. Instead, I leaned toward the absurdity of the setting, and while I wasn't trying to lean toward cozy, I can see what you're saying haha. Thanks for playing!

@jhonny111 Ahh yeah, that's a bug. Luckily it doesn't break the game, but it is very annoying when it happens. Fixed in the quick patch. Thank you!

@tudvari Thank you for playing! I reduced the health of the bosses to hopefully make it less tedious. I hope you give it another try! The third level is quite a challenge compared to the second though!

Thank you everyone for playing!

Great concept and mechanics! The first and second level were fun, but the third one was too hard for me.

I loved this game! Played on a trackpad, and the last level was a RSI-inducing bullet hell trying to craft the red onion 😂 Great job with the villain, I was cussing at him the whole time and cheered when he cried. Does that make me a bad person?

Great job with the name. Similar plays on "summon" and "minion" were swirling around for me as well. The slingshot mechanic is fun and creative as well.

Day 2 got pretty tricky, a lot of multitasking! Creative and funny idea, reminded me a bit of an old arcade game.

I have no words! This game checks all the boxes; a good take on the theme, a nice concept, cute arcade-like graphics, wonderful audio, and a nice game loop.

Of course, I can't not give at least one suggestion, that being that the player needs some kind of progression. Every round, you can see that the enemy gets stronger, so it is only fitting that the player also have some way to do so. A few ways to implement this are below.
- Monetary method: Every day, the player gets 200 gold (or equivalent) with which they can buy... anything! Spells, potions, fences, slingshots, whatever. This make the game increase in strategy as it builds further.
- Thematic method: The player can choose to sacrifice the onions to gain some temporary reward, e.g. speed boost, health boost, etc.
- Content method: Maybe, as the day progress, the player unlocks new crops like wheat, spice, corn, etc. These crops could have unique characteristics, e.g. corn explodes into kernels on impact, spice does poison damage, etc

Add progression, and you game goes from a simple _cute and funny for the first 5 minutes_ to a much better _replayable and strategic for hours on end_, which also happens to be sellable as a full game.

All the best on your future ventures!

Very cute! I appreciated each level having to consider whether combining one additional step up was worth it or not, and I'm proud of my red onion in the third stage! Overall a satisfying package!

If you were to expand it I think some other hazards to dodge rather than just the stones might give a bit of variation, along with some possible upgrades to how the onions work, or maybe having to physically move your little onion dude to certain spots to activate effects/pick up power-ups.

Very polished entry! I like that enemy has many attacks and sound of connecting onions! Good Job.
Only thing i wold fix is that if i could just click anywhere to spawn onions without need of clicking green circle first i think it would had better pace.

I love pixel art and animation in this game. It looks very cute and something on the screen is always moving.

Also, I also enjoyed the variety of things to do and variety of opponent's attacks to dodge. There isn't much strategic variety, but you still have to keep track of many things and move out of the way when needed.

Overall, congrats on making a very polished and fun game! Great job!

Funny and very well executed! The slingshot is really satisfying to use and it was actually pretty challenging to manage both the summoning and dodging the projectiles. The summoning mechanics were perhaps a bit on the tedious side but all in all a really solid jam outcome!

It's pretty nice and glitchless, I think the damage multiplier should scale more when combining onions, to account for time lost and the chance of losing upgraded onions, otherwise nothing to improve :)

"GET GOOD, GET GET GET GOOD GOOD, GET GOOD, GET GET GOOD" was all I could hear the kid saying as I was struggling time after time with the final level :')

I finally beat it tho and it was worth it for that ending.

Liked this a lot, made me laugh a bunch! Music is good and I like the mouth sounds. And yeah, third level was difficult but not too bad. I did initially not realise mouse and character were completely separate and thought I had to move the character between spots before placing things there but I got it soon enough.

Slingshotting felt good! I did seem to get stuck on the li'l onions sometimes which was a disaster when trying to avoid rocks, think I would've preferred no collision.

All in all probably the best type of game to make for a jam: simple but polished and a lot of fun! Maybe one day I'll learn too B)

Cute game! The graphics are great, and love the homemade sound effecs (could shake hands on that one :P). The gameplay loop is nice and simple, though I would've preferred it if the planting button would be a toggle.

It was surprising to see you've incorporated a bullet hell into this, which is a great touch. During the third game I had the feeling some attacks were maybe a bit unfair, but that could've been because I was constantly trying to simultaneously summon onions, keep them in place, and move between the bullets at the same time. I never focussed one thing at the same time, which maybe could've made things a bit easier.

Overall great job!

I have no idea what I just played... but I LOVED every second of it.

Unique and charming take on the theme!
I like the recorded sound effects they add to the charm.
I tried to keep on evolving my onions but then I saw that evolving the red ones just gives you more red onions lol. The only thing is that I wish that the game was just a bit harder but I still appreciate the simplicity of the game
Good entry!!

The name alone warrants a 5/5 for innovation, I adore the concept -- I liked that you could power up your onions to do quite a bit more damage, and that they could be destroyed so you needed to keep an eye on them! Sounds effects are also top tier, as someone who also likes to DIY SFX :D

I really enjoyed playing this game, although I wasn't the best at it... only made it until day 2. Part of the problem is that I'm playing on my laptop with a trackpad instead of a mouse. I agree with @marcodeevil that it would be nice to be able to click anywhere to spawn instead of needing to hit the green button. Making that small change could make gameplay feel even more fluid. Overall a hilarious, well polished game that is fun to play. Well done!

This is one of my favorite games on this jam! The art is very cute (especially the tiny little onion-lings), the whole premise is just hilarious, and the execution is solid.
P.s. I could not beat the last day, so we discovered that it is secretly a local co-op game where one player can dodge the stones and the other do all of the ~~gardening~~ summoning.

Made my bully cry, next day he comes back summoning blue rocks out of his sleeve.

![onion.jpg](///raw/c93/65/z/64af8.jpg)

Talk about an upgrade!

Design of the boy really looks like a school bully x) Poor onions! They are so cute. Even, especially, the evil one.

Summoned my first summonion and immediately threw in the middle of nowhere.
Took a minute to get adjusted to gameplay and figure everything out, then work out the aim on that slingshot x)

My favourite part is the play on the word summoning, I was really hoping to see some wordplay on it this Jam %)

This was such a delight. From the quirky concept to every bit of the execution, I really enjoyed myself here and it's impressive that you were able to make it so tight in only 48 hours. The bully crying made me laugh every time. I wondered about the choice to switch between blue rocks (which didn't take out your onions) and gray ones, as well as the choice to make any upgraded onion (or pumpkin) basically immune, but I was back and forth on that and can't fault you for making it easier on the player. The animations were really nice. I was a bit sad when I took the time to combine 3 red onions and got... 5 red onions. But in retrospect, I should have combined those and filled the screen with red onions, lol. I know you had to cap the upgrades *somewhere*. XD

But overall, straight fives for me. This was a great time.
