Ocean Summons by TheCrittersCove

[raw]
made by TheCrittersCove for Ludum Dare 55 (JAM)

Play as a fish trying to save his buddies by summoning something big enough to scare off the fishermen. Spacebar to call other fish. Mouse directs the goby.

The mechanics are kind of clunky. Feedback is appreciated. Thank you to anyone who takes the time to play.

Very nice game! The ending was a bit sudden, but otherwise I think you both did really well! Would love to see a more extended version with more story

The grahics looks not bad, but they are static, would be much better with just a bit more animation.
And there is one issue with the other fish that should be improved, they will spinning like crazy when you are too close. This could be easily improved, and you should have notice this to be honest

the graphics are not bad but some problems: i can go outside the map and just skip everything, when i go to the end it starts image bugging but other that that its not a bad game good job keep up the good work.

This should be a sequel to our game :D

The ending is a bit fast and unexpected. Art is very nice! Pushing space constantly to call the fish seems a little bit unnecessary.

This was cute! I love the idea of a fish fighting back by summoning all of the other fish around until they can scare off (or destroy lol) the fishing boat. I'd be sad if I couldn't eat fish anymore (I kinda prefer being a pescatarian) but if the fish are smart enough to do this, maybe we shouldn't be eating them πŸ™Œ

Well done! I will say I wish the movement was a bit smoother: I loved when I was scrolling across the screen because I could leave the mouse in place and press space repeatedly. But outside of that, I enjoyed it. Oh, and once I summoned and a fish was on the other side of a wall and it just went through the wall to get to me lol.

LOL cute story and fishes, one minor problem is that sometimes the tutorial will be skiped (I don't skip the story and there is no tutorial but after I skip it I have).

I agree, the ending did catch me off guard a bit, and it felt a tad abrupt. However, I must say, the art throughout the game is absolutely stunning! As for the gameplay, I found constantly pushing space to call the fish a bit tedious and unnecessary.

I enjoyed the undersea atmosphere and the unique take on the theme! It would have been cool if the fish could follow you naturally rather than requiring constant clicking. I also enjoyed the cute story

A fun little game. The atmosphere is slightly disrupted by the sprites of fish darting back and forth. And it would be really nice to see a sleeping kraken somewhere before the end (perhaps I got a bad ending).

Thank you, and good luck!

The fishes are so silly, I love them! I really like the concept of summoning fishes to help, but the ending also felt sudden for me - would have love to see the BIG fish before. Great work! :DD
