Demonsterization

You've been captured by an evil wizard who, by a series of cruel experiments, transformed you into a terrifying monster. Luckily, you've managed to escape your cage.

Now, you must escape the dungeon before the wizard catches you... Because of your monster form, you can only walk in straight lines, gathering everything in your wake. The dungeon is littered with magic gems, ones that can heal or hurt you, or even make you grow or shrink! Be careful not to lose to much health or shrink to much, or you'll be doomed!

Also, be mindful of the time, the wizard is on your heels! Look for water puddles, they'll help you wash the monster out. Avoid slime puddles, they'll transform you even more!

EDIT 04-09-15

Thanks so much for the comments, they're really appreciated!

When I [M] wrote the extremely unhelpful readme and copied it into the description and help I was pretty much out of it... And no surprise, it didn't explain much in terms of the gameplay. Which, in this case, is actually more important than the vague backstory /that was meant to be told in a cutscene or a series of images anyway/

so, beter late than never, right?

MOVEMENT: left-click any tile in a straight line from the monster, can be either up or down, left or right. You'll collect any gems between you and that tile.

GEMS: I tried /and apparently didn't succeed/ to make the gems easy to discern.
- a heart was to symbolize adding health/healing,
- upside-down heart subtracting health/hurting,
- the yellow pluses make the monster bigger,
- while the blue minuses shrink him

I hope at least the puddles are straightforward - the black ones stick to you and 'monsterize' you even more, while the clear/pale blue ones 'demonsterize you'...

TO WIN you have to move through all the levels /I cant recall how many are there... ..'/ from left to right, trying to:
- stay alive
- don't vanish /your size can't decrease to 0/
- 'demonsterize' yourself

Very interesting mechanics. I Mam thoroughly impressed by the grow/shrinking aspect of this game. Bravo!

Pretty good little game. Better visual feedback on how big you are and what you're going to hit as you move around would go a long way though. As well as an untimed first level to get players adjusted to the mechanics.

At first I had no idea how to start. Then I looked at the first screenshot here and saw the black boxes on the tombstones were supposed to be buttons (but I just saw black boxes).

As for the gameplay, I... don't get it? I moved around the grid a few times until it told me I ran out of time?

I really like it, the graphics and sound were good, but it had a few flaws. The controls seemed unresponsive. It was really hard to strategize since I had to spam to the right to get it to go fast enough to not time out. The few times I was able to make a path it was really fun though.

The concept of this game is interesting! I wasn't really able to keep all of the different shapes straight in my head, and the wizard was hot on my heels, so I just picked the path with the least amount of things on it.

In the end, I was still a monster.

I really like the interesting gameplay, especially with having to balance various stats in order to live. Great job!

First of all: Cool to see Pascal still being put to good use in games. It was one of my first programming languages (Turbo Pascal).

The game is quite fun. Interesting mechanic and you made some fitting audio.

My only critique would be that the shapes could have been clearer. I spent too much time parsing the level during my first few tries so the timer ran out.

Fun and simple. At first I thought the gameplay would be simplistic. But now I know for sure, it is the kind of gameplay with few actions but with a fun outcome! Feels fresh and fun. And special points for doing all of that in pascal, I definitely wouldn't be as brave as you were sir!

Good graphics and interesting ideia, I really liked the concept. As you already said, more tips about the gameplay would help, but after some tries I did understand well. Cool game, overall, it is a very solid entry =)

Interesting mechanics! Like @Slashee the Cow I had black boxes at the beginning. A quite bit hard to understand at first, but once I got what everything symbolized it was fun! Some better feedback about the size would be nice though.

nice graphics! it's a little hard to know what each gem means - maybe a better visual feedback. overall - nice work
